Chris Falk confirms Bayern Munich will not disturb transfer poker, as 22 year old's talks edges closer to conclusion

Transfer speculations suggest that Manchester United would compete fiercely with Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich for transfer targets during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to a journalist, Jeremy Frimpong is not on the Bavarian's list right back.

According to transfer news Journalist Christian Falk, the race to recruit Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong for Manchester United is "getting hotter and hotter."

The Bild journalist alleges in a piece for Caught Offside that the Red Devils had held negotiations to recruit the Dutch international, who is close friends with Erik ten Hag.

Falk claims that the Bundesliga's top teams have offered Arthur, 20, a new long-term contract that would keep him with the team until 2028 since they are aware that they will likely lose the right-back.

Although Falk claims that Bayern Munich won't "disturb the transfer poker," there have been rumors that the German powerhouse could compete with Man Utd for Frimpong. In his Caught Offside piece, Falk stated: "In the meantime, it is getting hotter and hotter with Manchester United and Jeremie Frimpong. There are talks. Leverkusen know that they probably will lose their right-back, which is why they gave Arthur (20) a new contract til 2028. The Brazil right-back is coming from America Mineiro."

“There are rumors that Bayern are intereted in United target Frimpong too. That’s not the case – Bayern will not disturb the transfer poker.”

The fantastic young right back Jeremy Frimpong, has been one of Leverkusen's standout performers. In 26 Bundesliga games this season, the 22-year-old has managed eight goals and six assists, and he is currently having the best stretch of his brief career.

Man United appear to be quite interested in getting him, but he won't be cheap. According to Football Insider, the German powerhouses value Frimpong at £40 million to £50 million, but they might take a signing bonus of around £35 million.

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are Man Utd's primary right-back alternatives, therefore Ten Hag will need to get rid of one of them in order to sign Frimpong.

When Ten Hag told Wan-Bassaka he may depart, it briefly appeared as though his days were numbered. But after the World Cup, he demonstrated his talent and won his manager's trust.

Having said that, the club ought to sell Wan-Bassaka to pay for Frimpong's relocation this summer. Wan-Bissaka is a more traditional right-back with a defensive mindset, but in today's game, teams like Manchester United prefer an attacking full-back.

This is why the former Crystal Palace defender has deteriorated despite having tremendous promise. Without a doubt, Wan-Bissaka is a very excellent defender, but managers now tend to favor offensive full-backs who can both score goals and provide assists, which is perhaps why they are so eager to take a chance on Frimpong.

But it's not yet clear who would be shown the exit as Diogo Dalot is also reportedly in advanced talks for a new contract at the club. Fans will have to wait until the end of the campaign to see the club's decision regarding the two right backs.

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the right-backs for Manchester United, are said to be in "really close competition," according to Erik ten Hag.

Before the World Cup, Wan-Bissaka played just six minutes a game, while Dalot started 20 of United's first 21 games and only missed the victory at Fulham due to suspension.

Wan-Bissaka has started 16 of United's 26 games since the season resumed in December, and Dalot missed a month of action after suffering his first club-related injury in two and a half years.

"I think it's really close competition between them," Ten Hag stated last week before Newcastle United's game. "So maybe Aaron gives you a little bit more defending, Diogo a little but more offence. They both made progress in both areas, so it's really close."

"Then you look at the opponent, you look at the load of the players to manage when you have almost two equal players, the form, where they are in, is also an issue. And of course, how is the team, how are they doing in the moment, and you make your decisions."
