"They're two very valuable players"- Erik Ten Hag believes duo's return will boost chances of another trophy

The return of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, according to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, will significantly aid the team's effort to win additional trophies this season.

The Red Devils have already won the Carabao Cup, and they have advanced to the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League semifinals. They are fighting to qualify for the Champions League for the upcoming season because their Premier League performance has dipped a bit recently.

But with Eriksen recovering from a serious ankle injury and Casemiro nearing the end of a four-game suspension, Ten Hag will soon be ready to start with his ideal midfield pairing for the first time since January.

"It is obvious and clear they are two very valuable players for us," Ten Hag said of the duo at a press conference.

"We all know how important the midfield department is. Over several games, we had to find a new balance and that is not easy at this stage of the season.

"We are in the right spot and we are competing for the top-four of the Premier League, the quarter-final of the Europa League and semi-final of the FA Cup."

"We have already won a cup, so we have to make it a really successful season. We have a great squad, so I am really positive to get a good final stage of the season and even more silverware."

Christian Eriksen is most likely going to start on the bench against Everton on Saturday, but Casemiro still has one more game to play out his suspension after receiving his second red card of the year against Southampton last month.

His first red card came in February against Crystal Palace when VAR decided that a throat-grab on Will Hughes was serious enough to warrant a red card. After that, the Brazilian international was dismissed for challenging Carlos Alcaraz too strongly.

When questioned if he believed Casemiro had received unfair treatment from referees, Ten Hag responded, "I don't know. The officials are trustworthy. However, neither of them were red cards in my opinion."

Donny van de Beek, a midfielder for Manchester United, has been spotted kicking a ball for the first time in a while. The Dutchman posted a video of some of his recuperation efforts to his Instagram story page.

After being sidelined for the season due to an injury sustained in January, he is working on his fitness on his own. The early indications are encouraging as Donny van de Beek can be seen kicking the ball around in the footage. It's been a while, was the brief caption for Donny van de Beek's video. Van van Beek has not yet resumed training with the first team. This season, this might not occur once again.

However, the Dutchman will be prepared to help if needed by the start of preseason. The second way to look at it is that, if that's the choice made, Van de Beek should be healthy enough to be loaned or sold during the transfer window.

Van de Beek will be in his fourth season at Manchester United next year, and he is still no closer to settling into a role than when he first arrived.
