'They technically a very strong team'- Erik Ten Hag makes admission about Real Betis ahead of UEL tie

Manchester United's manager has claimed that his team's opponents on Thursday are technically a strong team and are looking forward to the challenge.

The Red Devils are looking to bounce back after a disastrous 7-0 loss at Anfield on Sunday evening. Erik Ten Hag stressed that it's important that his side wins the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie to help put behind their Sunday evening humiliation in the Premier League by archrival Liverpool, but he admitted that Real Betis are a tough opponent.

"It was a big defeat, and we are all disappointed—we were mad." "Now we have to reset and bounce back," he stated during his press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

"We need a win, but we play a very good opponent." We have to be ready for that. "We are aware that when we play our best, we have a good chance to win."

Manchester United faced Real Betis and Cadiz when Erik Ten Hag's side visited Spain for some midseason friendlies and warm weather training, but they lost both games. Ahead of meeting the former in the Europa League on Thursday night, the press quizzed the 53-year-old about whether the experience from the friendly match last year in November would be useful on Thursday night at Old Trafford.

"Oh yeah, but we know Spanish football is technically very strong, and this is an example of it." "So they have a lot of skilled players, so we are really looking forward to it; it's a really good challenge for us," he explained.

Erik Ten Hag as well believes the team will need to make amends if they want the fans back supporting them, as has been the case since the start of the season.

"It's about unity, but we let them [the fans] down on Sunday, and we don't want to," he stated.

"We are disappointed in that, we are disappointed in ourselves, but we have seen the whole season; we have a really strong bond, and we have to keep that, but the team has to give the first energy." "Give the first action, and then the crowd will be behind us."
