Micah Richards claims Bakayo Saka is everything Man United fans thought Antony was going to be.

Former Manchester City defender turned pundit Micah Richards has slammed Manchester United's Antony Santos while claiming that Arsenal's Bukayo Saka is a contender for Premier League player of the season.

Bukayo Saka, 21, has been in good form for Arsenal as they continue their quest for their first Premier League trophy since the reign of French great Arsene Wenger. Under Mikel Arteta's management this campaign, the England international has emerged as one of the most important players for Arsenal.

He has scored 10 times and assisted on nine more while making 26 Premier League appearances for the North London club. He has received plaudits for his performances this season, and Micah Richards appears to think he deserves to be a contender for the Premier League player of the year; however, he slammed Antony Santos' performance at Manchester United in the process.

While sharing his opinion on BBC Sport regarding whom he thought should be Premier League player of the year, he gave verdicts on several players, including Casemiro, Erling Haaland, Martin Ordegaard, and Bukayo Saka, but briefly stressed the flaws that have been shown by Manchester United's summer signing, Antony Santos.

Saka is just relentless, isn’t he? "His numbers are brilliant, but his all-around play and his mental strength are just as remarkable as well, especially for someone who is only 21," he stated.

"He is always willing to take big penalties, and he is never fazed, whatever the occasion or situation in the game—he steps up in big moments.”

“Saka is one of the main reasons Arsenal are challenging for the title, and, regardless of whether they win it from here, he has just been unbelievable, and he seems to just get better and better."

He then went ahead to make his bizarre comparison with 23-year-old Antony Santos.

"He is a winger, but unlike, say, Antony at Manchester United, he is always involved in the game." As well as influencing games with his goals and assists, he allows his teammates to flourish. "The inverted role he has, where he comes inside, allows Ben White to space out wide, and their relationship is just incredible.”

Bukayo Saka is undoubtedly unplayable this season at Arsenal, and he is currently experiencing his best run at Emirates Stadium since his emergence from the Arsenal academy.

Antony Santos has been struggling to convince critics that he is worth every penny of the €100 million transfer fee that Manchester United paid to FC Ajax to secure his services.

Although he scored on his debut against Arsenal in the Premier League, he also netted on his debut for Man United in the Europa League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup. He has scored six times and registered one assist this season but has always been criticized for his contributions on the pitch and his inability to play with his weaker foot (his right foot).
