Man United's team injury update and predicted starting IX as Red Devils target Anfield victory

Manchester United is expected to receive Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho back with the rest of the squad ahead of Sunday's trip to Anfield. The England internationals missed the 3-1 victory over West Ham in the FA Emirates Cup midweek due to injury and sickness, respectively.

"I think we will have players back,” Erik told journalists on Thursday. "Yesterday, Luke Shaw was not available, so we expect him back.

“Sancho was ill, but we will have to wait and see how that develops, but I think he could be available as well."

Christian Eriksen is reportedly making progress back to fitness as he has ditched his clutches but still has a boot on his leg. Donny Van De Beek is still out for the rest of the season, while Anthony Martial is still not yet available, as Erik Ten Hag is keen to ensure the player recovers properly after suffering a setback last month.

Potential Lineup against Liverpool

Defense

David De Gea will be expected to retain his place between the sticks while Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez return to the starting lineup. Wan Bissaka will be expected to start ahead of Diogo Dalot, while Tyler Malacia retains his place at left back.

Mid field

Bruno Fernandes will continue to be in the lineup while Casemiro and Fred start in the middle with him.

Attack

Marcus Rashford will return to the starting lineup after being rested on Wednesday against West Ham in the FA Emirates Cup. Antony Santos and Wout Weghorst will join him in attack.

Jurgen Klopp gave an update about three first-team players who will miss the clash between the two rivals on Sunday.

“A lot of things can happen overnight, but yesterday evening they were all fine, apart from the players who are out, like Thiago and Luis Diaz,” Klopp told reporters.

“Joe is closer, but not close enough."

There was no update on midfielders Naby Keita and Arthur Melo, who are both doubtful.
