It appears Mason Greenwood will be staying at Old Trafford after Manchester United senior officials have met with the 21 year old and his representatives as part of the club’s internal investigation.
Mason Greenwood was discharged by the Crown Prosecution Service after charges of assault, rape and coercive acts were dropped against the 21 year old, who was arrested in the early months of 2021.
The option of returning Mason Greenwood to the first team as part of a possible gradual return to football remains under consideration. Should Greenwood stay, Man United are likely to go through a step-by-step process which would include encouraging him to go to therapy and it has also been suggested this could include a TV interview.
Mason Greenwood will give a live interview on Sky Sports alongwith Erik ten Hag & Richard Arnold. He will be allowed to quote his innocence and deliver a message to football fans in the United Kingdom.
According to SportsBible, It is a part of Erik ten Hag's plan to smoothly get Greenwood back in the squad. Erik ten Hag wants Mason Greenwood to be fit & ready to kick-off the next season. The Dutchman sees a lot of potential in the Man United academy graduate. The club could also send him on a six month loan to Ajax in the summer if the player himself feels like he needs game time elsewhere to prepare for Man United return.
The final decision will be made by Joel Glazer and Richard Arnold, as long as Manchester United remain under the control of the Glazer family. Erik Ten Hag has had at least one conversation with Mason Greenwood and his opinion will be taken into consideration.
