No Lisandro Martinez as two Man United's stars makes Garth Crooks's BBC Team of the Week

On a weekend when teams around them struggled, Erik ten Hag's team won at home for the 13th time in a row overall. Liverpool lost once more, falling to 10th place, while Manchester City and Arsenal both lost. Newcastle drew.

Manchester United defeated a tenacious Palace team at Old Trafford, but they had to hold on with 10 men after Casemiro was sent.

Following the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, these results allowed two Manchester United players to be named to the BBC Team of the Week.

In his weekly team of the week column for BBC Sport, Garth Crooks chose two Manchester United players.

Two United players—Marcus Rashford and David de Gea—were chosen, along with three Everton players, two Tottenham players, two Wolves players, and one West Ham player.

De Gea's late save from Marc Guehi was praised by Crooks, who stated that it was the kind of save that should guarantee his contract extension, which is still up for debate.

“Such was the quality of the save, his team-mates were compelled to congratulate him," Garth Brooks stated.

"Recent media speculation suggests De Gea is close to signing a new contract at Old Trafford. If I were manager Erik ten Hag, I would make it my top priority.”

The winning goal was scored by Marcus Rashford, who now has 19 goals for the year. Also, he has eight assists.

Crooks said: “It’s very hard not to recognise Manchester United’s transformation under Ten Hag without also acknowledging Rashford’s continued goalscoring exploits under the new regime.”

Garth Brooks was also critical of Casemiro's red card, he argued that eight more players should have been sent off along with the Brazilian.

The one obvious exclusion from Crooks' lineup was center-back Lisandro Martinez, who Manchester United fans chose as their game's MVP.

With three points behind City and eight points behind leaders Arsenal, Manchester United finishes the weekend in third position.
