A third replied: "We love you Jesse we do," with another adding: "Hope you're doing ok bro you're missed at Utd send love."
Jesse Lingard recently gave a frank interview on The Diary of a CEO podcast on his personal challenges while working for United. the previous international for England.
"The depression was so bad she [his mother] couldn’t really cope and she needed to go away and get help," he said back in January. "But leaving me with my little sister, who was 11 at the time, and my little brother, who was 15, for me, I was still going through my own things as well.
"So I wasn’t really the big brother they wanted at the time. They always get the fun, laughy, bubbly Jesse and I was going through my own things, so I was on autopilot. I just wasn’t there, mentally wasn’t there. I was on the pitch but I didn’t want to be on the pitch, I didn’t want to play."
With his goal opening the scoring on a difficult afternoon at Elland Road, Rashford assisted his United team in recording a fifth victory in six games across all competitions. Three changes were made by Erik ten Hag from the team that overcame a two-goal deficit against the Whites on Wednesday, and the Dutchman sat on the sidelines as his side was once more pressed and harassed from the start.
However, a strong red defense and Leeds' ineffectiveness in the last third prevented a goal until 80 minutes. Then, in a move that was almost a mirror image of what happened on Wednesday, Rashford was shifted into a more central position before immediately connecting with a cross, this time from Luke Shaw and the left side.
The ball eventually fell to Alejandro Garnacho, 18, who sprinted past a worn-out Robin Koch and fired past Illan Meslier as the Reds, encouraged by their goal, pounced in midfield. In the waning seconds, Wout Weghorst and Rashford each had chances to score their first league goals, but both of them were disallowed for offside.
