A video of Shola Shoretire sending a message to Bolton Wanderers fans has gone viral on the internet. In the video, he was stating his intentions to Bolton fans while at Lostock Training Ground, but some of Manchester United's fans who are Nigerians have found the funny side of it.
Shola Shoretire, who was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, to a Nigerian father and a British mother, allegedly made the short video to announce his arrival at the League One club and how excited he is to hit the ground running.
"Hi Bolton fans, "Shola Shoretire is here; I can't wait to get started and get some wins," he said.
Manchester United's Nigerian fans were quick to point out how the 19-year-old was unable to pronounce his Nigerian name correctly due to his accent. This generated a series of funny comments, as they would not let it slide.
"Wait .. Did i just hear shola Shoretire pronounced as 'Show-Lah Shore - tire' ???

The 19-year-old Manchester United academy player joined the League One side on a loan deal for the rest of the season to get first-team football experience and also garner plenty of playing time.
He made his debut for Ian Evatt's side against Derby County and has gone on to make three more appearances. Although he is yet to register a goal or an assist, he has been dishing out sensational performances since his move.
Shola Shorey made his official Manchester United debut on February 21, 2021, after he was subbed on for Marcus Rashford in a 3-1 win over Newcastle United. He had earlier signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils on February 8, 2021, after he turned 17.
He holds the record for the youngest player to make an appearance for Manchester United in an European competition after replacing Mason Greenwood during the Red Devils' 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League at the age of 17, breaking Norman Whiteside's 38-year-old record in the process. He was 108 days younger (Wiki).
He has represented England at the under-15, under-16, under-18, and under-19 levels. He is, however, still eligible to represent both Nigeria and England at the international level.
