Marcus Rashford may have figured out which positions to frequently occupy to score goals for Manchester United, according to Luke Shaw.
It was Rashford's 18th goal of the season across all competitions when he scored the winner in United's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The attacker is currently giving the club some of his best football despite only scoring five goals all of last season.
Rashford has become impossible for the Dutchman to drop thanks to Erik ten Hag's brilliance both through the middle and on the left.
Luke Shaw, who has played with Rashford at the club level and for England at the World Cup in Qatar, where the striker scored three goals for his country, thinks that Rashford's "hot streak" might be explained by his putting himself in risky situations.
"He's on that hot streak," Shaw stated while speaking to MUTV. "He's learned now how to be in the right positions to score goals and he's doing that, he's a man on fire at the moment. He's a vital part of our team and the way we're performing is a lot down to him."
"Hopefully he can keep on getting the goals and keeping his performances at a high level."
The England international and Man United's left back was the creator of Marcus Rashford's second goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. The former Southampton academy graduate is also having a great season but hinted it's all down to the fans support and they have played a great impact since the start of the season.
""It obviously feels nicer at the end when Old Trafford is bouncing," he added. The energy the crowd were giving us today, especially in the last 20 minutes, is why we love it here. We felt like they were with us and we feed off that energy."
"They helped us a lot in the last 20 minutes. You could see it, it does make a difference and it was such an important three points today and they [the fans] clearly did their part in helping us achieve that," he explained.
Luke Shaw also commented on Marcel Sabitzer's debut for Manchester United. The 28 year old was involved later in the second half after Casemiro's red card and impressed.
Luke Shaw on Marcel Sabitzer: “He's been amazing, he's not been here long, just a couple of days now and he's shown his quality in training. To come on with 10 men and show that impressive performance in not so long is good. He's shown promising signs to come of what he is about."
