According to the EPL index, Everton are reportedly eyeing Wout Weghorst as a possible striker signing during the 2023 summer transfer window.
Manchester United have reached a conclusion to let go of Burnley's loanee after his loan stint ended with just two goals over the span of his six-month loan stint at Old Trafford, and it appears the Toffees would want to sign the Dutch striker.
Manchester United secured a top-three finish in the Premier League and also coveted the Carabao Cup title, but Wout Weghorst made little or no impact despite playing 31 of the available matches after joining Erik Ten Hag's side in January.
Everton managed to survive a relegation battle last season. They were caught up in this fight mainly due to the lack of a proper striker, Dominic Calvert. Lewin is up to the task, but a recurring injury meant he only played a handful of games for the Toffees.
With Wout Weghorst set to return to Burnley, Everton stands a chance to secure his services.
The Clarets are back in the Premier League after being crowned English Championship Champions for the 2022–2023 season. They finished above second-placed Sheffield United with 10 points while amassing over 100 points.
However, Wout Weghorst's future is certainly not at Turf Moore, as his struggles to find the back of the net were the reason behind his being loaned out to Besiktas at the start of last campaign.
Despite Burnley paying Wolfsburg a transfer fee of £12 million in January 2022, the Dutch striker couldn't deliver with goals as Burnley dropped to the English Championship.
With Vincent Kompany's management at the helm of affairs at the newly promoted Premier League side, Wout Weghorst will have to seek elsewhere to continue his football career.
In other news, A journalist has backed West Ham manager David Moyes to complete the transfer of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.
The 30-year-old England international is among the majority of players that are set to leave Old Trafford in the next summer transfer window, and West Ham are vying to secure his signature.
Harry Maguire fell down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Erik Ten Hag, and despite his heroics with the England national team, the Red Devils captain has failed to convince the new boss that he fits into his style amid his calamitous performance on the pitch. But transfer journalist Paul Brown believes David Moyes can help rescue the former Leicester City defender's career.
"David Moyes knows his center-backs; he has a great track record of making a success of all the defenders he’s had at his clubs," Paul Brown told GiveMeSport.
“There are really very few that stand out that he hasn’t been able to get much out of. I do feel that if David Moyes got ahold of Harry Maguire, that could be great for his career."
“He would certainly get minutes if he went to West Ham, and I think he’d have a manager who really believes in him by playing every week."
The £80 million signing will certainly excel in West Ham's defensive set-up, and David Moyes history of coaching defenders will be crucial to his career's revival.
