"I don't mind"- Victor Oshimen breaks silence on future as United edges closer to Rasmus Hojlund's signature

With 26 Seria A goals this season, setting the record as the first African player to win Seria A's golden boot with such a tally, Nigeria international Victor Oshimen helped Napoli secure their first Seria A title since 1990.

Luciano Spalletti led his side to a spectacular performance in the Italian League last campaign as they broke the Naples 30-year-old jinx. An electric team display that sent waves throughout Europe.

Victor Oshimen was the leading star as Napoli finished comfortably at the top of the Seria A table, 16 points clear of the runner-up. The 24-year-old, since his debut with the Seria A Champions, has continued to be a prolific goalscorer and has attracted interest from major clubs across Europe, including Manchester United.

Victor Oshimen, after scoring yet another goal against Sampdoria during Napoli's 2-0 win in their last Seria A match of the season last Sunday, remained coy at full time when he was quizzed about his future at the club.

“I don't know; the president has to decide that,” he said. “I love the people of Napoli; they have shown me so much love. For me, I don't mind; the president decides, and I will just go with the flow.”

"I appreciate the Neapolitans a lot; they deserve this, and hopefully we'll have many more trophies to come,” he added.

“It’s an amazing feeling for me; I won the Scudetto, which is the most important thing in my career so far. I am grateful to God for this season, for my teammates, for my family, and for the Neapolitans, and they deserve all of this."

“This season has been brilliant for me, my teammates, and the Neapolitans. I think I've done so well this season and deserve every good thing I've got, but I feel motivated to do even more next season."

“Everything is possible. Just like when we started the season, lots of people didn't believe in Napoli. If the president says we can win it, I believe it; everything is possible."

Back inMay, Napoli's president made his stance clear in an interview regarding Victor Oshimen's future. In an interview with Rai Sport in Italy, De Laurentiis stated: "I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer—no way."

It's also not the first time Victor Oshimen has dodged questions regarding his future. After Luciano Spalletti's side's 1-1 stalemate against Udinese back in May, Victor Oshimen wasn't straight-forward about his plans for the future during the post-match interview.

"I'm thrilled with this victory," Osimhen told Sky. "I'm happy for me, for the team, and for the fans. I can't wait to come back to Naples to embrace our fans, even though tonight I already felt the warmth of the people."

"I'm happy for all the Neapolitans. I scored the Scudetto goal, it's true, but anyone else could have scored it. I feel like a leader, and I never give up. Future? Now I want to enjoy this historic moment; this is not the time to think about my future."

"Luciano Spalletti is a great coach; he asks us a lot, but he is like a father to all of us. He always manages to motivate us, and he deserves this title."

Meanwhile, Manchester United is still keen on Atlanta's striker Rasmus Hojlund, with reports claiming that he is one of Erik Ten Hag's top targets following rumors of the United boss making several contacts with the Denmark international through video chats.

However, Tottenham's striker Harry Kane is still in the picture. Atalanta are reported to have tagged a transfer fee of £55 million on the 20-year-old, and ManUnitedGistlovers understands that the Red Devils are willing to pay as he is a cheaper option compared to Harry Kane and Victor Oshimen.

Both Victor Oshimen and Harry Kane will allegedly cost around £100 million, with the former set to cost more if the 20-time Premier League champions make a major move for him.
