(Video) Amad Diallo or Alejandro Gernacho who has had a better season

Both players appear to have set the season on fire with their performances this season, which has led to them contributing heavily to the team's success this season.

It's a season that both wingers will not forget so quickly. Amad Diallo, following his big-money move to Old Trafford, is forced to go on a loan stint at Sunderland, not just to gain experience and get regular play time but to have the chance to showcase what his talent is really all about.

All thanks to Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray, who helped to ensure the former Atalanta teenager achieved his aim and his future at Old Trafford was considered positively under the microscope.

Alejandro Gernacho will turn out to be a cheap steal from Atletico Madrid's academy setup for Manchester United. The young Argentine became the poster boy for Manchester United's youth team, the Emirates FA Cup winners for the 2021–2022 season.

The hype surrounding the winger didn't go unnoticed by new Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag, who promoted him to the first team and gave him the confidence and chance to showcase his talent.

Alejandro Gernacho turned out to be a success-hungry youngster who grabbed the opportunity given to him by the former Ajax boss with both hands. His influence on the team in his debut season has already gotten fans anticipating big things to come from the youngster.

How they really fared

Although Amad Diallo has already made his official Manchester United debut back in 2021 and managed to get on the scoresheet on two different occasions before heading out for a disastrous loan stint with Scottish Premier League side Rangers,

Amad Diallo has gone on to prove that, given the right support, atmosphere, manager, and teammates, he can help deliver much-needed results on the pitch.

Team play, cutting in and scoring Worldies with his left foot, the Ivorian will surely give Antony a run for his money next season.

Alejandro Gernacho's burning desire and hunger to succeed on the pitch are visible; even Stevie Wonder and Cobhams Asuquo can't deny this. The 18-year-old just wants to be on the pitch, taking on defenders, cutting in, and shooting at goal.

Amad Diallo scored 14 times and assisted four more this season under Tony Mowbray's management and was nominated for the English Football Championship Player of the Year award, although he lost out to another Manchester United loanee. He, however, won Sunderland's Player of the Year award, a proof of how vital he has been for the Black Cats this season.

Alejandro Gernacho also proved he is a big player in the making as he helped win the Carabao Cup tie against Aston Villa after the Red Devils fell behind twice. He also helped decide the second leg of the Manchester derby at Old Trafford by coming off the bench to assist Marcus Rashford's winner.  Manager's verdict on both wingers

Following an amazing display off bench and a return from injury, Alejandro Gernacho was hailed by Erik Ten Hag but the former Ajax boss stated that the exciting teenager must push to become a regular starter at Old Trafford.

"Making decisions, being aware, scanning situations, when to go one-on-one, get behind, when to go for goal or make an extra pass," he told the media after being asked if Gernacho could start games.

“Decisions like that are what makes a good player a top player – that is the difference. But when you see it overall, he’s a huge talent and very brave.”

“I’m happy we can bring in young players and, hopefully he will progress so quickly that he can compete for a starting position. Because that is his next challenge.”

Erik Ten Hag may not have openly stated how good he thinks Amad Diallo his but he is certainly impressed by the Ivorian's ethics with Sunderland in the Championship. He stated the 20 year old would be in his plans for next campaign.

"Yes, of course," declared the Dutchman.

"We loan such players to let them develop and make progress, to bring them back. That is the aim of a loan.

"We are really strong on them in the matter of the way we mentor them. We follow them and we have communication through all the season."

"Especially Darren Fletcher - he invests a lot in such processes and the aim is to bring them back as a better player and with better experience."
