'Furious' Man United's dressing room players ahead of West Ham game emerge along with David De Gea's advice

West Ham and Manchester United, are in urgent need of all three points when they square off Thursday evening.

Manchester United and relegation-threatened West Ham will square off in a Premier League match at the London Stadium.

In contrast to Man United, who have only earned four points from their last three games, the Hammers appear to have found a little more stability over the past month or so.

Both Erik ten Hag and David Moyes will be anxious for their clubs to win all three games this evening.

The Express claims that the Man United locker room is 'furious' right now as a result of recent mistakes that allowed Liverpool to reenter the race for the Champions League spots.

According to rumors, Luke Shaw has been organizing 'honest' discussions among Manchester United players on how to restart their top-four challenge.

I believe that we are playing Ten Hag's side at the incorrect moment. Our best chance of beating them would have been if they already had a lock on Champions League status.

The matchup between West Ham United and Manchester United should be exciting. Just let's hope that our players are as eager to play as theirs definitely will be.

Against West Ham, David de Gea will make his 540th appearance in goal for the team, breaking another Manchester United record.

With 539 games played as a United goalkeeper, the Spaniard will surpass Alex Stepney, whose record has endured for 45 years.

De Gea defeated Peter Schmeichel's United record of 180 shutouts in February when he defeated Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

The timing of De Gea's individual accomplishments coincides with doubt about his future at Old Trafford. The 32-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the following month, but he has not yet reached an agreement on a new one that would lower his £375,000-per-week salary.

Although the club has the option to extend De Gea's current contract by a year, it's believed that United are hopeful of coming to an agreement before he becomes a free agent.

How much it would cost to replace De Gea if other parts of the club needed reinforcement this summer is a crucial one for United.

De Gea joined to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid for £18.9 million in July 2011, and Eric Steele, the goalkeeping coach who recommended De Gea to Sir Alex Ferguson and chief executive David Gill, believes the player can continue to be United's No. 1 for a number of more years.

"He’s still in his prime," Steele told Mail Sport. ‘He’s still young as a goalkeeper but look at the experience. He’s not going to be far off 550 games by the end of the season, and that’s at 32 years of age."

"I wouldn’t want him to be lost to Manchester United and the Premier League. Hopefully they will get this deal sorted and he stays part of the Ten Hag era."

"It’s down to David and the club. I think it’s about time it was sorted. We keep hearing it’s going to be resolved but we’re in May now. His contract runs out at the end of June. It would be nice to have an announcement to say which way it’s going."

"All I can say is that I would be very saddened to lose David after the 12 years he’s given."

De Gea has won one Premier League, one Europa League, one FA Cup, and two League Cups during his time at Old Trafford. He has also been named United's player of the year four times, a record he shares with Cristiano Ronaldo.

United's greatest goalkeepers Steele thinks De Gea can retire at the same age as Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar, who did so at 39 and 41, respectively.

"Why not? He looks after himself. Why can’t he do what Edwin and Peter did? He’s been a great servant to the club and contributed to some really great times."

"In terms of every record he seems to be breaking, he’s been phenomenal and no-one is more proud then me. When he beats Alex Stepney’s record that is something that will put him in the history books at Man United forever."

Ferguson missed a League Cup match against Scunthorpe in September 2010 to watch De Gea play in Spain as a result of Steele's advice.

The 20-year-old had a difficult time adjusting to the physicality of English football during his first season in the Premier League, but Steele claims the team never wavered in their support of him.

"No, never a doubt,’ he said. ‘The great thing about Sir Alex was that he always invested in young players. But he had never signed a young goalkeeper."

"We knew we were buying potential and there was a lot more to come. We knew it would take time and Sir Alex gave him that time."

"The greatest thing about David is his character. He’s cool, he’s calm and composed. It just goes straight over his head. If you make a mistake, brush it aside and start again. You’ve got to have that strength of character to play for United."

"He’s had his ups and downs and come through it. He’s had to deal with a lot of managers since Sir Alex brought him in 2011 and many different coaches."

"I actually said to the gaffer and David Gill, “if you sign this guy you’re probably looking at somebody who could be with us for 10 years”. I might to have to re-assess what I said and make it 15 years."
