The fans fear that manifested and haunted Man United as their 13 straight home victories is halted by Leeds United

Manchester United fans were worried ahead of this week's clash against Leeds United in the Premier League following the announcement of the whites manager Jesse Marsch's sack.

Leeds United's two games against the Reds may benefit from a "new manager bounce," according to Manchester United supporters, after the Whites fired manager Jesse Marsch.

Leeds United hasn't won in the top division since November due to their struggles this season. Only two of the club's previous 17 Premier League games have ended in victories under his leadership.

The Yorkshire club fired Jesse Marsch after their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, less than a year into his tenure as manager. At Elland Road during the close of the previous campaign, he took over from Marcelo Bielsa and was successful in keeping the Whites in the Premier League.

A club statement from Leeds read: "Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties.

"Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season. Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu will also leave the club.

"We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future. The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days."

Although Leeds United will attempt to recruit a new manager soon, it is unclear whether they will have a new manager in place before the back-to-back matches against United. Prior to visiting Elland Road on Sunday, the Reds will played the Whites at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Leeds United's next two games were against Erik ten Hag's team, so when the news of Marsch's firing broke, United supporters reacted quickly, and many said it was unfortunate for the Red Devils that he was sacked. Here are some of the social media comments made by supporters:

Leeds have sacked Jesse Marsch right before Man United play them. I can already see that ‘New Manager Bounce’ win coming for Leeds… only thing giving me hope is that it’s at OT 🥲.

New manager bounce, it is not looking good

These fans fears manifested as Red Devils had to come from behind to draw the game and earn a point from a disappointing 2-2 draw.
