Striker Update: Man United told to sign Kylian Mbappe's teammate during summer transfer window

Louis Saha thinks Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt should be aggressively pursued by Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag's intentions to strengthen his frontline this summer are well known. According to The Manchester Evening News, the United boss has Harry Kane at the top of his list of ideal candidates, with Victor Osimhen also a possibility.

Kolo Muani, a French forward with seven caps, is another player the Red Devils are keeping an eye on. The 24-year-old, who was acquired from Nantes last summer, is having a strong first year in the Bundesliga.

Kolo Muani is second in the scoring lists with 13 goals, despite Frankfurt wallowing in mid-table. According to reports from last month, United is competing with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur for his services.

Former Red Devil Saha has pushed Ten Hag to sign Kolo Muani, citing Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho's hope in his international combination with Kylian Mbappe. Informing Daznbet he stated: "I think Randal Muani would be a very good signing for Man United. Not only as a number nine… he can play either side of a three."

“He’s a very clever player, very quick, sharp with his feet and very intelligent. He’s already established a good link with Kylian Mbappe for France. He’s aware of everything.

“He has the talent to go short or long, he’s very clever and he will be a real danger in the Premier League if he comes, especially with Rashford and Sancho. That will be really hard for defences. It could be a very clever move, there is room for improvement.

“There are lots of names like that who can contribute. But Muani is a very intelligent player, he has lots of stamina, he can run all day and will fit into the game plan that Ten Hag loves. He’s one for the future. He can learn for a season, and then have a huge impact in the next two or three years. That makes sense.”

Journalist claims about Kolo Muani

Eintracht Frankfurt may already be aware that they won't be able to keep Kolo Muani with so many bigger teams banging on their door, trying to sign Kane and Osimhen will require dealing with aggressive negotiators.

Kolo Muani won't be coming to Old Trafford anytime soon, though, according to football writer Christian Falk, as Bayern Munich are the front-runners to sign the forward.

Falk explained in a piece for CaughtOffside: “Bayern are still looking for a striker and most recently they had scouts and technical director, Marco Neppe, at the Aston Villa game. They won’t be making an offer for Ollie Watkins, however, because they’ve decided to continue to focus on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as a priority as well as seeking clarification on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s intentions.

“Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is no longer a target for the club so Man United will be happy, though the Red Devils have an issue if they want to position themselves alongside the Bavarians for Kolo Muani.”

Striker's hunt continues

With Man United heavily linked with Harry Kane, Rasmus Hojlund, Šeško, Marcus Thuram and a host of strikers options ahead of summer transfer window, Erik Ten Hag will be looking to bring in at least one.

Anthony Martial is rumored to be heading fornthe exit in the upcoming summer transfer window and Wout Weghorst is not going to be given a permanent contract. That keeps the door of possibility of a new striker's arrival possible but it's not yet certain which of the goal poachers the Red Devils will bring to Old Trafford.
