Following Oshimen's footsteps? Frankfurt's CEO addresses £79.8 million striker's future amid United's link

Axel Hellmann, the CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt, has downplayed rumors that Randal Kolo Muani would leave the German team this summer.

The 24-year-old has played 42 times across all competitions for Frankfurt during the 2022–23 season, making an impressive 42 appearances while contributing 21 goals and 15 assists.

In 29 Bundesliga games, Muani has scored 13 goals and recorded 12 assists. Before his team was eliminated from the Champions League, Muani also scored twice in seven games.

Manchester United is rumored to be interested in signing the France international during the summer transfer window, which is the current focus of much conjecture regarding the player's future.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also reportedly expressed interest in hiring him.

There have also been rumors that Bayern Munich wants to replace Robert Lewandowski, who moved to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, with Muani.

There have been rumors that the Frenchman would be permitted to leave his current club in the forthcoming market in exchange for a sum around €90 million (£79.8 million).

However, Hellmann indicated that much more would be required to pique the interest of the Bundesliga squad.

"Kolo Muani? When I look at the international market, I imagine a different number than €90m (£79.8m)... more than this! He has a long-term deal. My absolutely ideal scenario would be that he stays with Eintracht," Hellmann told Bild when questioned about the 2022 World Cup finalist.

With seven appearances, one goal and one assist for the French national team, Muani has established himself as a key member of the team.

The forward started both of his team's March qualification games and is anticipated to play a significant part for the 2022 World Cup champions at the European Championship the following summer.

This summer, Man United will be looking for a high-priced center-forward. Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with moves to Old Trafford.

While all is going on, Real Madrid is looking for a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, who will extend his contract at the Bernabeu until June 2024 before departing on a free transfer.

Before switching to German football, Muani began his professional career at Nantes, playing 87 times for France, contributing 16 assists and scoring 23 goals.

However, Kolo Muani won't be coming to Old Trafford anytime soon, though, according to football writer Christian Falk, as Bayern Munich are the front-runners to sign the forward.

Falk explained in a piece for CaughtOffside: “Bayern are still looking for a striker and most recently they had scouts and technical director, Marco Neppe, at the Aston Villa game. They won’t be making an offer for Ollie Watkins, however, because they’ve decided to continue to focus on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as a priority as well as seeking clarification on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s intentions.

“Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is no longer a target for the club so Man United will be happy, though the Red Devils have an issue if they want to position themselves alongside the Bavarians for Kolo Muani.”

Just days after Napoli lifted their first Seria A title in 33 years. Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, asserts that he will not sell Osimhen this summer, and that's a Kolo Muani's replica.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international is a clear target for the Reds as they look to add more attacking options during the summer transfer window. Although Harry Kane is the management's primary target, it is believed that manager Erik ten Hag prioritized the recruitment of a fresh goal scorer and that Osimhen has been on their radar since November.

By scoring 22 goals in 27 league games, Osimhen, who is also drawing interest from clubs like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, helped Napoli win the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years this season. He has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 27 goals overall.

He has made a name for himself as one of the most in-demand attackers in Europe, and a number of teams, including United, have been keeping an eye on him in the lead-up to this summer. De Laurentiis, the manager of Napoli, put an end to any aspirations United and other suitors may have had of signing him after the Italian team won the title on Thursday night.

In an interview with Rai Sport in Italy, De Laurentiis stated: "I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer - no way."

With an incredible total of 27 goals this year, Osimhen has been the crown jewel for Napoli. He signed on with the reigning Serie A champions in July 2020, and in 96 games since then, he has scored 55 goals.

Osimhen refused to comment on his future after Napoli's Serie A championship-clinching 1-1 tie with Udinese on Thursday night, stating that the time wasn't appropriate.

"I'm thrilled with this victory," Osimhen told Sky. "I'm happy for me, for the team and for the fans. I can't wait to come back in Naples to embrace our fans, even though tonight I already felt the warmth of the people."

"I'm happy for all the Neapolitans. I scored the Scudetto goal, it's true, but anyone else could have scored it. I feel like a leader and I never give up. Future? Now I want to enjoy this historic moment, this is not the time to think about my future."

"[Luciano] Spalletti is a great coach, he asks us a lot but he is like a father to all of us. He always manages to motivate us and he deserves this title."
