Erik Ten Hag to rival Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta for Devyne Rensch plus Lyon's Houssem Aouar

Devyne Rensch, an Ajax defender who is highly regarded, is reportedly being chased by Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool this summer.

The 20-year-old got his breakthrough with the Amsterdam giants under Erik ten Hag, and since Jonny Heitinga became manager, he has continued to play a crucial part.

Rensch, who primarily plays right back, has started three Champions League group-stage games this season, made 23 appearances in the Eredivisie, and has three goals and one assist.

The Netherlands international has scored seven goals and five assists from 89 appearances since rising through the club's academy systems, earning two Eredivisie championships and a KNVB Beker along the way.

Rensch earned his senior Oranje debut in a 6-1 thumping of Turkey in September 2021, but he hasn't played for the first team since. Rensch was a member of the Netherlands' Under-17 team during their victory at the 2019 European Championship.

Rensch has a two-year deal with Ajax, and both Man United and Liverpool might put pressure on the Eredivisie powerhouse this summer.

The youngster, who was born in 2003 and can play as a left-back or in the center of defense, is reportedly being watched by Arsenal as well.

According to the article, the Gunners have identified Rensch as a great backup plan in case they are unable to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, who is thought to be their top choice.

While Borussia Dortmund is rumored to be making headway in negotiations over a £20 million deal to sign the Spanish teenager, Arsenal is still holding out hope of attracting Fresneda to the Premier League.

Due to Mikel Arteta's efforts to expand his alternatives on the right, the North London club may now turn its attention to Rensch, whose potential has reportedly made Gunners executives "very excited."

Ben White has been used by the Arsenal manager in that full-back position for the majority of the season, making Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has been troubled by injuries and is out for the season with a knee issue, the backup option.

Rensch, who recently missed five Eredivisie games due to a thigh injury before returning for Saturday's goalless draw with AZ Alkmaar, is another player who Brighton & Hove Albion is rumored to be keeping an eye on.

After defeating Newcastle United 2-0 on Sunday, Arsenal closed the distance to Premier League leaders Manchester City to one point. This weekend, Arsenal will host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates.

AS Roma closing in on Lyon mid fielder

Houssem Aouar's free transfer to AS Roma is "closing in," despite Manchester United's desire.

Despite Manchester United's interest, Serie A powerhouse AS Roma is 'closing in' on a deal to get Houssem Aouar on a free transfer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The midfielder's current Olympique Lyon contract is slated to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign. As a result, the Algerian national will be free to join with any team in the summer of 2019.

The 24-year-old has been in communication with the Red Devils regarding a transfer to the Old Trafford team during the forthcoming transfer window, according to a prior report from El Chiringuito TV on Twitter (h/t Express).

But it appears that Jose Mourinho's group has beaten the Red Devils to Aouar's signing. The midfielder and the Giallorossi have struck a basic understanding. They are just waiting for the contract, which will be in effect until 2028, to be signed.

The Algerian spent his whole senior career at Lyon. The 24-year-old has prospered and attracted a lot of attention over the years in France. But it appears that his tenure at Les Gones is coming to an end.

This season, Roma is vying for a spot in the top four in Serie A. Their dreams have been dashed, though, by their weekend loss to Inter Milan. In the middle of the field, Mourinho has players like Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bryan Cristante, and former Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum at his disposal.

For United, we signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro last summer. The two have developed a remarkable partnership and have displayed impressive play in the current season under Erik ten Hag.

However, the manager's options are limited on the substitute bench. Given the inconsistent play of Fred and Scott McTominay over the years, it is clear that the Red Devils lack quality depth in the engine room.

Aouar, though, is about to leave for Roma, thus the Old Trafford team will lose control of him. It will be intriguing to see who the Manchester-based team choose to focus on over the summer.
