"Best offensive team in the World"- Brentford manager gives Ten Hag the key to beating Man City

With the FA Cup final against Manchester City the following week, Manchester United will officially end their long season.

At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has had a successful first season in charge. His team has qualified for the Champions League and won the Carabao Cup.

A FA Cup victory would make the season special and would demonstrate Ten Hag's standing as a top-tier coach. But after dominating everyone in their path in the second half of the season, Pep Guardiola's team will enter the game as heavy favorites to win the Premier League with relative ease.

In addition, City is on track to win the Triple Crown after making their second-ever appearance in the Champions League Final.

United would do whatever to prevent City from winning all three major championships and replicating Sir Alex Ferguson's team's historic feat from 1999.

Despite being in fantastic form, City lost to Brentford on the final day of the season and drew with Brighton in their last two Premier League games. With their victory over City, Thomas Frank's Brentford became the only team to have won both of their games against them this season.

According to 90min.com, Frank revealed the formula for his team's success during his post-match press conference. “It is very clear this is the best offensive team in the world so you need to defend very well. We managed to defend very well but not only in the low block, I think you could see today we were brave with high pressure throughout the game."

“I think that’s a big thing. I think if you only defend with a low block, you will struggle,” explained Frank.

The Brentford manager added that for their best chance of winning, his team needed to be courageous in their approach and make sure they were still alive for set pieces.

“That braveness, which I love about my team, I love that. Set pieces are also pretty important,” said Frank.

With only 12 goals from dead ball situations this season, United is not known for its set piece goals, but Ten Hag will undoubtedly be keeping a watch on it for the next week.

Manchester United managed to beat Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League last season after completing a 2-1 comeback at Old Trafford. However, a disgraceful 6-3 loss at Etihad in 2022 is a scoreline the Red Devils will not be forgetting so soon.
