Alvaro Fernández sends touching Instagram message to Preston North End fans ahead of United return

Manchetlster United's youngster Álvaro Fernández has sent message to Preston North End's fans ahead of his return to Old Trafford.

The former Real Madrid academy ace joined the Championship side to gain experience and playing time and ended up earning the hearts of the lillywhites fans with his six assists and four goals contributions.

 Álvaro Fernández wrote on Instagram:

"An amazing season with Preston North End has come to an end. I've learnt so much and made incredible memories here.

To all of the staff and my teammates I want to say a massive thank you, the first loan is never easy but you made everything perfect for me and my family and helped me develop as a player so much.

To each and every Preston fan who supported us throughout the season, I will never forget the support that you gave me at Deepdale and across the country. To receive your votes to win Young Player of the Year means so much and I'll never forget the bond that we have.

It was a real honour to wear this shirt and represent this special club."

Alvaro Fernández future has become a trending topic among Preston North End fans and Man United's faithfuls who kept track of their on loan left back over the course of the season.

With two goals and six assists featuring at left back and left wing back for the championship side, Alvaro Fernández has won the hearts of the lillywhites fans and has gained Ryan Lowe's trust who have had so much confidence in the 20 year old.

An article from a PNE fan website which gives insights on fans feeling towards the Spanish left back possiblity of retuning for another loan stint or staying put at Old Trafford reads as thus:

It is tougher to watch them go when they are better. And there is no doubt that Alvaro Fernandez's return to parent club Manchester United will leave the Deepdale terraces with a terrible void.

Real Madrid players that succeed there are less likely to wear a Preston North End jersey. However, this talented and fearless young talent who at times appeared to be on a different level from the other players on the field with him was unable to fully commit to the team.

Alvaro Fernández, an instant hit as PNE once again struck gold in the loan market, has sprinted down the wing and made fans sing throughout the entire season.

The optimism that this isn't the end will grow as we persuade ourselves that the Spaniard's story isn't over in these parts. Twenty-year-old Fernandez, who is close friends with Bambo Diaby, is one of United's two senior left-backs. He must return, right?

However, in actuality, perhaps the wisest course of action is to only become ready for it. must be thankful that Fernandez and Preston even started dating; that we got to see him enter the field at Wigan and never turn around. For the most of his tenure, this physically demanding, tough-as-nails level that can easily devour young players has hardly seemed like a challenge. Yes, there have been instances where Fernandez's opponent has been beaten

He has been the PNE team member that can accomplish tasks that no one else can during the entire season. It's debatable whether this says more about the latter than the former, but few few opposing wide players have stood out in the same way as North End's number two. That touch of top flight class Preston can only hope to one day possess as their own is his ability to sail past defenders with complete disregard while carrying himself with shoulders high and hair blowing in the wind. In his possession, Fernandez frequently exudes a sense of weakness, but this is all part of the plan; he draws opponents in and then leaves them for dead.

The United player will be a treat for whoever he plays for next season. There is no possibility in hell that PNE will be the sole team vying for this award. They will head into another summer hoping to bring one of their loan sensations back for round two. On the roster of one of the greatest teams in the world, Fernandez is one of the most promising young players.

He must maintain his rising trajectory and prevent others from overtaking him. There are several reasons why the Spaniard should return to Deepdale and try it again. And how enjoyable that would be. Preston struck gold when he originally acquired him; a second loan spell would almost be miraculous.

Where does Alvaro Fernández's future lie

The Championship team Preston North End, who still has a remote possibility of making the play-offs with two games left, is where the young Spanish player has spent his whole season. Fernandez has been a consistent player for the Lilywhites throughout the entire year, and Deepdale supporters like his flair and dynamism on the left wing.

Fernandez has contributed six assists in 40 games for PNE. Ryan Lowe, the manager, has faith in the player and has alternated starting Robbie Brady and him throughout the season. Before going back to Old Trafford, the former Real Madrid star is daydreaming about scoring.

"I had a good start when I made two assists against Huddersfield," Fernandez told LancsLive. "I then became injured, but (the fans) seemed to love me! When you work, you need that motivation and to start with those two assists - it was a good start. I was injured for one month after that, but from there I took big motivation.

"It's been a good season for me - I have taken the experience that I wanted right at the beginning, with 39 (now 40) appearances in total. It's been the perfect season for me, I think. We have a very good squad and everyone is close in the changing room - it's a good feeling. We have no problems inside and we know what we want."

Yet still Alvaro Fernández doesn't exactly know what the future holds as he explained that the decision lies with Erik Ten Hag and Man United, but t everything there way the 20 year old just wants to play regularly and will always have Preston North End fans in his heart.

"I think I will go to speak with them (United) in one or two weeks," said Fernandez. "They will say that I need to come back in pre-season - to United - then we will speak again, after training, to see what happens and what they want."

"The world is crazy.. you never know in football. Erik ten Hag, he has to choose! I am happy for (Man United) because they are doing very well. They changed a few things in the team - some tactics - and they are doing very well."

His teammate and best friend at Preston North End team, Bambo Diaby already hinted in a friendly warning that he would kill the former Real Madrid's academy player if he fails to return to Preston for another season.

“I don’t know, honestly,” said Diaby. “Because, if it was for me, I want to still play with him – of course! He is a very good player and I think everyone would want him in their team."

"He has a lot of quality and is a very nice guy. I have a very good relationship with him, especially, but it is his future and I think he needs to decide that. He will need to talk with the managers, his agent and everything and make his decisions.”

“If he does not I kill him. So, he decides; I know where he lives and know everything about him, so…” he added.

Both players grew fond of each other as they are the only Spanish speakers in Preston North End's squad.
