Ajax names Jurrien Timber's price tag as Unai Emery wants Striker duo at Aston Villa amid United interest

According to Sky Deutschland, Ajax has a price in mind for Jurrien Timber, who is a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, if they decide to transfer him in the summer.

Timber has made it clear that he is prepared to leave Ajax during the upcoming transfer window, and the Premier League has been mentioned in connection with the player.

Last summer, Erik ten Hag wanted him to join Manchester United, but Louis van Gaal dissuaded him from doing so before the World Cup.

Ten Hag is still intrigued, but rival Liverpool, who plans to rebuild this summer, is putting pressure on Manchester United.

If at all feasible, Ajax would love to retain the defender for the upcoming campaign. They are however aware of the attention Timber is receiving and the defender's readiness to leave. And it has been revealed that Ajax would demand somewhere in the neighborhood of €50 million before deciding to sell the player this summer.

Jurrien Timber is eager to join a bigger club in the upcoming months, but the Dutch giants have made no firm bids.  Ajax is a selling club, so if their asking price is fulfilled, they won't likely obstruct the Dutchman.

Unai Emery and Aston Villa wants Ivan Toney

Tammy Abraham of Roma is reportedly 'confident' of joining Aston Villa this summer, despite interest from a number of European clubs. After a successful run in Italy, the former Chelsea striker is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League.

Now, Unai Emery might try to make a splash by bringing Abraham to Villa Park. It would be tantalizing to pair him with Ollie Watkins, so it would be intriguing to see whether a deal can be reached.

Since Emery joined the team in October, Villa have experienced an impressive comeback. In fact, the manager oversaw the Clarets' transformation from football relegation candidates to European challengers.

Villa is currently in seventh place in the Premier League standings, two points behind Liverpool in fifth. Watkins, who has 11 goals in his last 15 games, has been essential to their success, as was previously reported.

However, they will need to make wise purchases in the upcoming transfer window if they want to maintain their incredible rise. And it appears that Emery is now making a new center-forward his top priority.

Villa are 'sure' that they will sign Abraham this summer, according to a report from 90min. This is in spite of "a number of top clubs throughout Europe" expressing interest.

Manchester United, who are reportedly exploring a variety of center-forward alternatives at the moment, is one of these teams.

He won't be inexpensive, either; it will cost £40 million to hire him. Emiliano Buendia's £38 million (add-ons included) transfer from Norwich presently holds the record for the club's highest transfer fee.

If Villa can close a deal, Abraham might turn out to be a great acquisition. He has made 98 appearances for Roma since joining Jose Mourinho's team in 2021 and has totaled 36 goals.

The England international has only scored eight goals in 32 league games this season, though, which is a slight decline from last. However, a new beginning might be just what he needs to restart his career. It's interesting to note, though, that Villa is considering signing more than just Abraham.

Ivan Toney, a standout for Brentford, is the target of an audacious move by the Midlands club, as TEAMtalk has reported. The center-forward, though, has a hefty £50 million valuation from the Bees.

Newcastle, Manchester United, and Chelsea are also interested in Toney. But one significant issue might prevent them all from hiring him.

The 27-year-old was accused of violating gambling laws 232 times between 2017 and 2021. A month later, he was then charged with another 30.

Toney, who may face a minimum six-month penalty, confessed to many of the allegations but denied others.

Emery will need to choose between Abraham and Toney because it is unlikely that Villa will seek both of the strikers. But it's fair to say that, at this point, signing Abraham is more likely given the controversy surrounding the latter.
