(Video) On loan 18 year old scores world-class volley, as United learn bigger problem in Everton victory

In a National League game on Good Friday at Boundary Park, Altrincham and Oldham Athletic drew 2-2 thanks in large part to a spectacular goal by Manchester United-owned midfielder Maximillian Oyedele.

Maxi Oyedele rejoined Altrincham's matchday squad after assisting Poland's U19 national team in earning a spot in this summer's European U19 Championship throughout the course of the season's final international break.

With ten minutes left in the game, goals from Joe Nuttall and Bassala Sambou had the Robins down by two goals. The deficit was halved by Altrincham's Oyedele before Tyrese Sinclair scored the equalizer in the 89th minute.

The Latics defense only partially cleared an outswinging corner from Eddy Jones with his left foot, and it nicely fell to Oyedele, who from 25 yards out produced an incredible first-time volley that soared past goalie Magnus Norman.

Oyedele scored his first goal as a senior on February 18 against Woking, followed by his second goal three days later against Barnet, and his third goal in eight league games against Oldham Athletic.

Manchester United's biggest problem

In the first 12 minutes of the game, United had five scoring opportunities but failed to take advantage of any of them. After a botched three-on-one break that ended in nothing, Rashford then narrowly missed Pickford with a shot after being put through on goal.

When Rashford ran through on goal and Antony failed to spot him, the Brazilian's spectacular effort from the ensuing corner cannoned off the post before Aaron Wan-Bissaka miraculously pulled the rebound wide of an open goal.

The first 45 minutes of United's encounter against Everton included 21 shots, the most by any team this season and the most by United in the first half of a Premier League game since 2003-04. They were only able to locate the net's back once, though.

The tally was increased by Anthony Martial's strike in the second half, but they had enough decent opportunities to score five or six goals against an Everton team that handed them so many.

It was a combination of bad luck and bad play, but against the top teams, such waste cannot be tolerated.

This season, fresh additions have made such significant improvements to United's midfield that it has become rather simple to take Bruno Fernandes' skill for granted.

The Portuguese player has frequently been the unsung hero of the United club, appearing in 47 of a possible 49 games and doing so in a variety of positions to best serve the team's overall needs.

Throughout the majority of the season, he has accepted the burden of serving as the club captain, and despite losing the armband to Maguire against Everton, it was he who set the example.

In the deeper midfield position, Bruno Fernandes was utterly magnificent, coordinating the assaults like a quarterback while also performing the necessary grunt labor.

When the midfield is once again fully fit, it will be interesting to see where he plays.
