Bayern Munich reluctant to compete for Harry Kane's signature as James Ward gets tipped to joind United

According to The Mirror, Manchester United has gained a major boost in its pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane because Bayern Munich is reluctant to engage in a bidding battle.

In the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils are likely to sign a star striker, and manager Erik ten Hag has identified Kane as his top target.

As Bayern are reportedly reluctant to spend a significant amount of money on the 29-year-old England international this summer, it appears that United have a clear path to signing him.

In July, Kane will begin the final year of his contract with Spurs, and it is rumored that if he decides to leave, north Londoners may seek more than £100 million. Tottenham Hotspur's valuation is too high for Bayern, who are willing to break their previous record of £70 million in transfers.

Kane appears to be headed to Man Utd.
Kane is Ten Hag's top aim for a striker, and he thinks he can turn United into serious Premier League title challengers.

With Bayern's attitude, United has now received a big boost. Kane has long been a favorite of the German champions, but they are unlikely to pay the price. The Red Devils appear to be in the best position to sign Kane, but a deal would ultimately rely on whether the England captain was willing to leave Spurs.

Kane has spent his whole Spurs career without a single trophy, so it might be the ideal time for him to chase a greater challenge outside of north London.

With 25 goals for Spurs, he has enjoyed another outstanding season. If Kane were to join United, he could team up with Marcus Rashford to form a formidable attack, which should increase his chances of winning championships.

The James Ward Prowse rumors

James Ward-Prowse, if he were to join Manchester United from Southampton this summer, would be a "real good signing," according to writer Pete O'Rourke. With more than three years remaining on his £100,000 a week contract, Ward-Prowse is rumored to be considering leaving the south coast.

Football Insider claims that Erik ten Hag is interested in signing midfield ace Ward-Prowse this summer. Ward-Prowse is expected to leave Southampton this season despite having plenty of time left on his contract, partly due to their relegation.

Given that Southampton has spent the majority of the season in the bottom three, their ten-year run in the Premier League appears to be nearing an end, casting doubt on Ward-Prowse's future.

According to transfer expert Dean Jones, this summer was Ward-Prowse's "last chance" to land a high-paying transfer to one of England's elite clubs.

Jones thinks Ward-Prowse, who has been with Saints since he was a teenager and is valued at £34 million by Transfermarkt, should leave Saint Mary's even if they win the championship this year.

The 11-cap England international is being watched by a number of teams, including ten Hag's United, according to the Football Insider source. O'Rourke suggested that United would take advantage of Southampton's unsure situation in the top division to steal their club captain from them in an interview with GIVEMESPORT.

On the 28-year-old, O'Rourke said: "Obviously if you have someone like Ward-Prowse providing the ammunition for your forwards it will only add to their firepower and it could be a real good signing for United."

That’s the case for anybody else as well, because he’s a proven Premier League player and as I said his set-piece deliveries will definitely add more goals to anybody who gets him.”

The Manchester giants aren't the only elite team interested in signing Ward-Prowse; rumors of Newcastle United's interest have also begun to spread.

Aston Villa, who had a transfer for Ward-Prowse rejected in July 2021, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also interested in acquiring the midfielder from Portsmouth at the end of the current campaign.
