Man United to finish above Newcastle United in the top four as Super Computer makes new end of season Predictions

How did the top-four race change as a consequence of Tuesday night's forgettable draw between Liverpool and Chelsea, while Newcastle United and Manchester United picked up three important points on Wednesday night?

The two struggling behemoths are not significant players at the top of the Premier League this year, but Liverpool in especially has a chance of making the Champions League for the following year.

Will either of these teams mount a late-season comeback and pose a danger to those above them? The top-four race is expected to be extremely close.

FiveThirtyEight predicts every Premier League match using its Forecasts and Soccer Power Index (SPI) scores. Here are their predictions for who will place in the top four and earn a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season at the end of the 2022–23 season.

According to the algorithm, Liverpool and Chelsea will both narrowly miss making the top four. In actuality, it doesn't think either team will place among the best six. With 62 points, Liverpool is expected to finish seventh, six points behind fourth place, while Chelsea is predicted to finish tenth, ten points behind the Reds.

Aston Villa and Brentford are predicted by the computer to end ahead of the Blues this year.

With Manchester United and Newcastle competing for the two crucial places alongside Arsenal and Manchester City, the top-four race is expected to be tight. Although Tottenham is presently in fourth place, they have played more games than their competitors.

Additionally, the computer predicts Cristian Stellini's team to end sixth with just 13 points from their final nine games.

Brighton will qualify for the Europa League and earn their first-ever spot in the European competition. They are anticipated to fall four points short of Newcastle, who is expected to finish fourth and make the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.

Despite their recent slump and a busy schedule coming up, the supercomputer believes United will have a strong conclusion to the domestic campaign and finish third by racking up 19 points from their 12 remaining games.
