Scott McTominay and Tyler Malacia earns fans and MUTV pundits plaudits after display against Brentford

Scott McTominay, a defender for Manchester United, put on a tough display on Wednesday night as the Red Devils narrowly defeated Brentford in the Premier League.

The Scotland international struggled against Newcastle United last weekend, and there have been rumors that Fred might take his position as the number six.

However, boss Erik ten Hag kept the Scot against the Bees, and the 26-year-old showed why he was kept by putting on a strong performance for the full 90 minutes.

While McTominay's distribution wasn't always perfect, he displayed strong defensive determination by winning eight ground and air battles and inflicting four fouls on the opposition.

However, his two crucial blocks in the middle of the second half were the primary highlight of his performance. The midfielder, who was named the game's most man of the match for his outstanding performance at the center of the midfield, will be looking to repeat the achievement against Everton.

This season, Tyrell Malacia has proven to be an excellent replacement for Luke Shaw. He is talented enough to play every game, so it almost seems unfair to call him a backup.

If Shaw is forced to lose time due to an injury, the extent of which is still unknown, fans may get to see more of him.

Malacia performed admirably in Manchester United's 1-0 victory over Brentford, contributing to the preservation of a clean sheet.

The international player for the Netherlands displayed excellent passing accuracy, completing 36 of 37 attempts, or 97% of his throws.

Additionally, he produced two chances for goals, an area of his game that requires improvement. This was a good omen.

Malacia made two effective clearances and won two of the two tackles she engaged in.

David May, a co-commentator on MUTV, praised him and said, "You know what, I thought I was going to miss Luke Shaw, but Malacia has been outstanding, he really has.

He didn't take any time to warm up for the contest, studio analyst Danny Webber said during the post-game coverage.

Even if Shaw recovers quickly, Malacia will probably keep his spot for the encounter against Everton on Saturday. When there is such a high-quality replacement accessible, there is no need to take any chances.

After a spirited victory, United climbed back to fourth position in the league standings, three points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth with one game remaining.

The club is therefore in a good position to end in the top four, but they must swiftly refocus because of the match against Everton on Saturday at 12.30 PM BST.

As long as Casemiro remains out of the lineup, McTominay ought to retain his spot in the starting lineup. The fourth and final domestic encounter of the Brazilian's four-match suspension will be played against the Toffees.
