Player ratings and Talking points as Man United dominates Everton in 2-0 win at Old Trafford

Bruno Fernandes shines in deep mid field role.

In what many describe to as a

quarterback-style role versus Everton, Bruno Fernandes once again found himself in a deeper position.

The Portuguese magnifico played a key role in United's domination by frequently picking up the front four and producing two significant chances. He was only prevented from increasing his total number of assists by his wastefulness in front of goal.

Manchester United are finally playing the Erik Ten Hag's style

Despite spells of good performance this season, the team's play frequently reflected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's strategy of depending on counterattacks to win games.

The previous week, though, has witnessed a change, as seen by strong and composed performances, particularly against Brentford and Everton.

This seems to be more in ten Hag's personal style and much closer to what he has in mind for Old Trafford in the long run. With Fernandes controlling play deeper, the midfield formation with Marcel Sabitzer more forward has recently seen remarkable success and appears to be the way forward.

Man United misses seven big chances

Despite winning 2-0, United had plenty of chances to win the game in the first half in particular, as they had six shots on target but missed six crucial ones.

Manchester United squandered a total of seven significant opportunities in the contest, missing out on what should have been the ideal chance to improve the dire goal differential.

Jordan Pickford of Everton deserves praise for his outstanding performance in goal, stopping three or four clear-cut opportunities and preserving a reasonable score. The victory is a fantastic outcome, but with such a difficult stretch of games ahead, United must improve in front of goal.

Martial brings back the goalscoring touch

Anthony Martial scores again

Anthony Martial returned to the scoresheet after a protracted injury against one of his favorite opponents.

After coming off the bench in the 61st minute, Martial scored his seventh goal of the year just 10 minutes later, demonstrating his enormous worth to the Red Devils.

The return of Martial appears to have marked Wout Weghorst's departure from Old Trafford. Since then, the Burnley striker on loan has only been occasionally utilised.

In order to stake his claim to continue at Old Trafford through this summer, Martial will be hoping to stay in shape.

David De Gea enters the golden glove race

Despite the obvious defensive flaws at times this season, David De Gea currently shares the league lead with Nick Pope with 13 clean sheets.

This is a strong indication of the stability ten Hag has provided for the team. ensuring that his team plays both entertaining and sound defense.

This outcome was a prime illustration of the team's defensive strength, as they only allowed Everton one shot that was on target.
