Gary Neville leads twitter reactions as Wan Bissaka produces miss of the season

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's missed opportunity to put Manchester United ahead of Everton has prompted Gary Neville to make fun of the right-back.

At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag's team dominated the first half and ought to have been ahead when Wan-Bissaka was given the ideal chance to score. When Antony's initial long shot hit the post and rebounded, the full back was the first to respond.

When it appeared to be easier to score, the former Crystal Palace player absolutely botched his effort and rolled it wide. Wan-Bissaka only needed to maintain his cool and put the ball into an open goal, but he demonstrated the reason he has scored only twice in 149 outings for the Red Devils.

Neville took to Twitter to express his disbelief that their right-back curse had persisted over time after Wan-Bissaka missed his opportunity. The right back goal scoring curse at Old Trafford is still in effect, he claimed.

First-half chances were continuously created by United, who should have been in the lead given the volume of their chances. Even though Jordan Pickford got off to a strong start for the visitors, Marcus Rashford and Antony both missed more opportunities.

However, Wan-Bissaka's wasted opportunity caught the attention of United supporters on social media. They were furious that he didn't score, with one fan proclaiming it to be the season's worst miss.

One person said, "We can't score today. In a little while, that Wan-Bissaka miss will haunt us."

"Not Wan-Bissaka paying tribute to Timo Werner," another added. A third claimed: "Just saw Wan-Bissaka’s miss. I mean it was harder to not score."

A fourth said: "How has Wan-Bissaka missed that? Miss of the season." Another fumed: "How can you missed such a sitter Wan-Bissaka."

Wan-Bissaka received criticism for his shooting prowess but praise for his ball-handling skills and how much he has grown in possession. In response to a tweet that stated Neville has improved going forward, Neville expressed his complete agreement. "Agreed," he replied. He is much neater on the ball.

After a well-executed move by Jadon Sancho, United ultimately seized the lead in the 36th minute thanks to McTominay, who buried the ball past Pickford. Given that the Red Devils controlled play and deservedly took the lead, it was thoroughly merited.
