Man United's Ansu Fati transfer clouded as Newcastle United fails to meet Scott McTominay's £50 million price tag

Ansu Fati, a winger for Barcelona, is attracting interest from Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Sport.

With the Blaugrana, the 20-year-old has had a challenging season and has played just over 1,400 minutes in all competitions.

Sport is currently reporting that he is dissatisfied with his current circumstances and that his camp is already in contact with many interested clubs, including United.

According to the same source, Barcelona could sell him for the right price because they need to reduce their pay bill in order to acquire other players.

In addition to Fati, Ferran Torres and Raphinha might also be shown the door due to their financial worries. Even though Fati has only seen limited action for the Blaugrana this season, his seven goals and three assists across all competitions have left an impression.

Consequently, the Spaniard has a lot of talent and could seek out a new challenge this summer if he is unable to land a regular starting position under Xavi.

Weekly reports about the teenager have made it seem improbable that United will sign him because of his passion for playing in a specific position. The €35 million star is a left winger by trade, and United has a number of star players who can fill that position.

This season, Marcus Rashford has played primarily from the role for United and has been in outstanding form with 28 goals and 11 assists. Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, meanwhile, have offered solid support. Simply said, the Red Devils do not require a second left winger.

Scott McTominay and Newcastle United twist continues

Eddie Howe is already planning to add players to his squad during the summer transfer window, and he may even want to compete in the Champions League and  Scott McTominay, a midfielder for Manchester United, is a top target for Newcastle because Howe is a huge fan of the Scotland international.

McTominay is reportedly wanted by Manchester United for £50 million, but Newcastle has no intention of paying that amount. Although it is anticipated that the Magpies would once more spend lavishly in the summer transfer window, paying £50 million for McTominay does not seem to be on their agenda.

For Manchester United this season, McTominay has made 21 Premier League appearances and received seven cautions.
Due to a ban for receiving a yellow card, he was unable to represent his team against Newcastle in October, but he played 82 minutes in the Red Devils' defeat to the Magpies earlier this month.

The remainder of McTominay's Old Trafford contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
