Marcus Rashford sends Anthony Martial Instagram message after scoring on injury return

After being re-inducted into the Manchester United team and helping them defeat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford delivered a message to Anthony Martial.

In a dominating effort against Sean Dyche's team, the Red Devils furthered their drive for the Champions League by defeating the Toffees 2-0.

The first goal for United came from Scott Mctominay in the first half, which saw a flurry of United assaults. However, in the second half, after a Seamus Coleman error and a Rashford assist, Martial nearly secured the three points.

On the field, Rashford and Martial have always gotten along well, nevertheless the two engaged in a conversation after the game that solidified their bond with United supporters not only as teammates but also as close friends.

Rashford used Instagram to send the French striker a message that clearly demonstrates their wonderful rapport. The caption, which refers to Martial's prolonged absence from the field because of his injury history record, says, "Welcome back."

It is clear that Martial's ability to score goals has been missed by United. Martial's replacement as a striker has been Wout Weghorst, who has struggled to score in the majority of his outings.

Martial's second-half substitution had an immediate impact. He brilliantly finished off an opportunity past a magnificent Jordan Pickford, almost guaranteeing United the three points.

Anthony Martial has often shown that he is a terrific finisher, but supporters frequently wonder if the 27-year-old can avoid injuries in order to establish himself as a long-term option at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, it's encouraging to watch Martial score goals once more, and we wish his history of trips to the hospital a thing of the past.

While Marcus Rashford is out injured, Anthony Martial has been challenged by Erik ten Hag to stay healthy and lead Manchester United. Martial scored his first goal in nine weeks on Saturday to help the Red Devils defeat Everton 2-0, and he is now under even more pressure to perform after Rashford hobbled from the field with what is thought to be a groin injury.

"I'm not worried he will score. Martial, when fit, will contribute, when he's on the pitch, he makes a difference to the team," Ten Hag said after the 2-0 win over Everton.

"See [how Martial performed against] Man City, see Liverpool, he has to keep himself fit, then he is a threat to the opposition and he can be clinical as well."

This season, Martial has only made a total of 12 Premier League appearances, starting just six of those games. He has been sidelined for almost four months owing to calf, thigh, back, and undisclosed knock injuries. Nevertheless, despite the frequent setbacks, he has scored seven goals across all competitions, including three in the Premier League, placing him joint-third on United's all-time scoring list.

Ten Hag acknowledged that he wanted to use Martial and Rashford together as much as possible, which is why he kept the England striker on the field even after the game was essentially won.

"I had that consideration but in that moment, you want also Anthony Martial, just coming back, you want to bring them back into routines and togetherness. When they are together we have two goalscorers who can finish games and that's what we need in the final stage of the season to be successful," added the manager.
