Man United issued Mac Allister's advice amid Frenkie De Jong and Jude Bellingham's transfer saga

A striker is not the only player Manchester United needs to buy this summer, despite the fact that he or she may be the most crucial.

The need for a better goalkeeper has once again been brought up by David de Gea's troubles in Seville. The injury situation at the back has also brought attention to the need for center-back and right-back reinforcements. Erik ten Hag also wants to bolster his midfield. Despite the excellent trio of Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, and Bruno Fernandes, United performs far worse when even one of them is out.

Fred and Scott McTominay just aren't on the same level, Marcel Sabitzer is only on loan, and Donny van de Beeks' days at Old Trafford seem to be numbered despite both occasionally making significant contributions.

Given that Casemiro and Eriksen are 30 and have missed significant portions of the season, it is obvious why the manager wants more technically proficient players at his disposal.

It's critical that United manage their summer business properly if they want to capitalize on the excellent work that Ten Hag has already accomplished. At least the fact that plans are being created and they are ambitious is heartening. a degree of ambition that Ten Hag has merited.

After Sunday's humiliation in Newcastle, Harry Kane must be more eager than ever to leave his Tottenham purgatory, and he is the main target for United. The midfielders the club is interested in signing are of a similar caliber but are probably much more difficult to secure.

The transfer saga of the summer is likely to center on Jude Bellingham's future. Given that he is still so young, it is not even certain that the young prodigy will leave Borussia Dortmund, but all of Europe's top clubs will make every effort to sign him. United is one of them. According to reports, Ten Hag told close friends that if he could sign any player in the world, it would be the England international because of his performances during the World Cup.

Bellingham will have his pick of the top teams, but despite their dramatic advances, United are still not among them. When teams performing at the pinnacle of their abilities are interested, Manchester City and Real Madrid appear to be the front runners, and United simply won't have a chance. Given that Bellingham will cost well over £100 million, Liverpool has already conceded defeat, and United might be better off following suit.

Frenkie de Jong, the other player Ten Hag adores, also doesn't look likely to play at Old Trafford. But in the Dutchman's case, it's because he's determined to stay put. Last summer, United and Barcelona tried everything to complete the transfer, but De Jong refused to go, and nothing has changed. "I'm content and at peace. I intend to remain in Barcelona for a very long time," he stated last month.

What therefore should United do when it seems that their ideal goals are impossible to achieve? Well, change your goals. There is no clearer alternative than this one.

By a hair's breadth, United made it to the FA Cup final on Sunday. finally defeating Brighton in the sudden-death penalty shootout. Although there were an equal amount of opportunities for both teams, the Seagulls had the better ones and absolutely controlled possession. Even with their strongest midfield three, United's opponents were hard for them to touch the ball against.

As his amazing season proceeded, Alexis Mac Allister was in charge of running the show. He has contributed significantly to a fantastic Brighton team all season, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Along with Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez, his inclusion in Argentina's starting lineup sparked an improvement in their play as they went on to win the World Cup.

Mac Allister is a magnificent ball player, possesses a wide passing range, is adaptable enough to play in a variety of positions, and exhibits excellent tactical awareness both on and off the ball. He is truly available and possesses all the attributes Ten Hag is looking for.

Paul Barber, the CEO of Brighton, acknowledged that the summer could see him go. He spoke to talkSPORT: "With Alexis, we sat down before the World Cup with his father, Carlos, and his agent," Paul Barber stated.

“That was about making sure Alexis was as settled as possible before the World Cup goal.

“And afterwards, we ensured he got back focussed on the Premier League – to his credit he absolutely has done. Has performed very, very well."

“What the summer brings? We don’t know. What we do know is our players will come under a lot of scrutiny and interest."

“And we will manage that, as we always do, when and if it happens.”

Although Brighton has not yet given Mac Allister a price tag, a transfer looks quite likely given Man United's and Liverpool's desire to bolster their midfields.

Carlos Mac Allister sparked rumors when he admitted that his son wants to leave the Amex Stadium and even brought up Boca Juniors, where the 24-year-old played for a year on loan.

Surely Alexis will return to play in Boca at some point,” he told Puro Boca (via bolavip).

“Today he is just beginning his career in Europe, but on the way back when he decides to settle in Argentina again, he will surely want to play in Boca, even if it is for a while, to finish thanking and demonstrating the level that it can have in a club of this nature in Argentina.

“Normally the next [transfer window] will find him playing in another institution, we don’t know which one.

“The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”

The 24-year-old will not be inexpensive either. Brighton can be difficult to deal with, as Chelsea has learned on numerous occasions, but United is much more likely to find success with Mac Allister because they have firsthand knowledge of his talent. However, they should move soon because he is likely to be very interested as well.
