Alexis MacAllister, who is wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool, has received a significant update from Fabrizio Romano.
In recent months, there has been a great deal of transfer rumor about the midfielder for Brighton and Hove Albion, who won the World Cup.
And according to Romano, a move is already planned for the beginning of the summer, therefore the issue is expected to develop rapidly. Even more, the dependable journalist claims that Mac Allister is adamant that he will leave Brighton during the upcoming transfer window.
The Argentine's representatives will soon be in talks with United and Liverpool as the two English footballing behemoths compete for his services.
“Understand Alexis Mac Allister and his camp consider summer move as 100% guaranteed,” Romano tweeted this morning.
“The expectation is for an early transfer. Alexis will give his best for Brighton until June. Liverpool and Man United will discuss with player side soon.”
Mac Allister's current contract has two years left on it, and Brighton has the option to extend it by another year.
The Seagulls are unlikely to let the player depart without receiving a sizable sum of money given their recent track record in the transfer market.
Although the player is fully capable of playing deeper in the middle of the field, Mac Allister excels as a hardworking number 10, a position where the Red Devils have plenty of players.
This does not seem to be a race United are likely to stay in for very long, especially if Brighton's demands are even remotely close to the prices suggested for his teammate Moises Caicedo. But given that the player views a trade as "guaranteed," everything could alter over the course of the next few months.
Manchester United's Amad Diallo's next season plans revealed
As Amad's loan with Sunderland draws to a close, Erik ten Hag is open to bringing him into the Manchester United lineup for the upcoming campaign.
In Saturday's 2-1 victory over Birmingham as Sunderland tries to make the playoffs, the 20-year-old winger scored his 12th Championship goal of the year.
After claiming Ivorian needed a "run of 10 starts" to demonstrate his abilities, Ten Hag and the United staff are happy with Ivorian's progress.
For young players with the technical ability to rejoin their first squad, United sees the Championship as a necessary environment.
Amad is probably going to travel with United's preseason tour team to the United States. Prior to their July flight to the Atlantic Coast, United intends to play two friendlies in Europe.
In addition to securing a Premier League loan for Facundo Pellistri for the upcoming season, United has tentative plans to sell or loan fellow winger Anthony Elanga. The club has not yet decided whether to accept Mason Greenwood back into their atmosphere.
Ten Hag is impatient with Jadon Sancho and believes that Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are his best alternatives on the left wing, which might offer up a spot for a right winger to challenge Antony.
While Sancho worked on his fitness over a two-and-a-half-month period, United had the option of recalling Amad, but Ten Hag did not want to impede his progress at Sunderland.
"We consider everything but I have a little bit of reservation about [recalling Amad] because I don’t want to stop the process," Ten Hag said on New Year's Eve. "He has made really good progress there so I’m happy with that.
"But young players need experiences and when we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting XI or minimum to come on for a lot of games and make an impact."
Amad did not make a start in any of United's six preseason games following a disappointing loan stint with Rangers the previous season. In the three games he participated in, he was a center forward and scored in the 1-1 tie at Old Trafford against Rayo Vallecano.
Ten Hag felt the Cote d'Ivoire international was not ready to figure regularly in the first team. "In that moment I didn’t see him in the starting XI or a player who had already had an impact. But I see and value and his potential and capabilities."
"What I saw is that he needs experience in men’s football, senior football. I think there are many aspects of football to get strong physically and mentally, and also skills-wise, to improve and develop that so he can have value for us."
