Feyenoord star set for new contract amid United's interest as Victor Oshimen's saga takes new twist

The future of Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez will be updated soon.

ESPN Mexico reports that the 22-year-old's father will travel to Europe to decide on his son's future with the Dutch club.

Gimenez has had an outstanding season, leading Feyenoord with 20 goals and three assists across all competitions.

Numerous elite European clubs, including Manchester United, have already initiated contact with the Mexican.

The report states: “Gimenez has recently been linked to the likes of Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Manchester United and Sevilla, and those rumours create big expectations about the next transfer window.”

In their search for their new number nine, United reportedly dispatched scouts to observe the 22-year-old. Front-line clinical finishers are lacking for Erik ten Hag's group.

Even with all the inventiveness on the wings, United still needs a goal-scoring striker.

Gimenez would be a fantastic choice, one that wouldn't cost much in transfer fees.

He is a clever striker who has a reputation for tearing apart defenses with his darting runs from behind.

With his dynamism in attack, the Mexican would be a wise addition to this Man United squad.

His teammate Orkun Kokcunis also on Manchester United's radar and the Red Devils have been given the green light to sign him from Eredivisie.

After an outstanding season at Feyenoord, legendary Dutch manager Dick Advocaat believes that Orkun Kokcu has the talent to play for Manchester United.

At Wembley on a stressful Sunday afternoon, Erik ten Hag's team narrowly defeated Brighton and Hove Albion, setting up a matchup with Man City in the FA Cup final in early June.

Advocaat watched as The Seagulls and The Red Devils played to a scoreless draw. Additionally, he saw a spot in Ten Hag's engine room for the guy leading Feyenoord to the Eredivisie championship.

“I saw Manchester United (against Brighton),” Advocaat tells Veronica Inside. “He could have easily (played in that game).”

In 2022–2023, Kokcu, who had previously played for Advocaat at De Kuip before Arne Slot arrived, has significantly improved his performance. The Turkish international, who was born in the Netherlands, has 12 goals and five assists. After developing from a slinky number 10 into a metronomic, deep-lying playmaker, he is the beating heart of this Feyenoord midfield.

Kokcu, who is valued at £40 million, is being monitored by Man United, according to Rotterdam-based journal 1908.

With all due respect to Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and Casemiro, Ten Hag may find it difficult to implement his free-flowing, possession-based system at Old Trafford without the aid of a press-resistant playmaker who is capable of splitting the lines from deep and turning defense into attack with a slaloming run.

Kokcu and Frenkie de Jong, the former Ajax talisman of Ten Hag, have a lot in common and have been on United's radar for the past 12 months.

Advocaat, on the other hand, thinks that Kokcu's choice to represent Turkey on a global stage was a setback for the Netherlands. He claims that the 22-year-old is 'better' than each and every midfielder available to Ronald Koeman right now.

And De Jong might be among them.

“He’s better than the guys who play in midfield (for the Netherlands now),” Advocaat adds. “He’s a very dominant player. He does very little wrong.”

Oshimen's agent dismisses fake rumors

The Napoli striker Victor Osimhen's team denies the rumors that his future has already been decided.

For the Serie A champions, Osimhen has had a fantastic season. The 24-year-old's 26 goals in 32 games have attracted interest from outside the area.

According to MEN Sport, Erik ten Hag's top summer goal to fill the vacancy up front is Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. However, Ten Hag has created a list of alternatives in case United finds it challenging to acquire Kane.

Victor Osimhen is one of them, and the Dutchman is rumored to be a fan. If he does not agree to a new contract, the Nigerian international's current term expires in 2025.

However, his representatives claim that no decisions have yet been taken. They informed Mundo Deportivo that "everything that is being said is false."

"It’s early to talk about the transfer window. A lot of people are trying to destabilize at this point. There is nothing."

Recently, Osimhen has also cast doubt over his future but, in an interview with Sport1, he claimed he was unsure what lies ahead of him. "I don't know what the future holds," he explained.

"I think I'm on the right track. At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss everything.

"I will also be in talks with the club. I am incredibly grateful to Naples. We will find a good solution together."

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left United in November, the team has been in need of a striker. Although Burnley's Wout Weghorst was signed on a loan in January, the player is not anticipated to return to Old Trafford the following year.
