Bayern to rival United for SL Benfica's Goncalo Ramos as Erik Ten Hag makes Feyenoord contact for Santiago Gimenez

However, Teamtalk claims that Manchester United have made contact with Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez as they continue their hunt for a striker ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Additionally, Ten Hag is looking for a fresh alternative as both Anthony Martial's future is in doubt and Wout Weghorst will move on at the end of his loan stint.

According to the Mexican sports publication W Deportes, United has initiated contact with Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord. This season, the 21-year-old has been in outstanding form for Feyenoord, scoring 18 goals in 36 games.

Although he joined the Rotterdam team last summer, his stay in the Netherlands might just be temporary. According to the article, interest is growing in the Mexican hitman. United, though, is "the team most interested" in Gimenez, and there has "been a talk with the player's environment" to determine whether a summer transfer is feasible.

And with a mere £17.5 million (€20 million) release clause, the striker appears to be a fantastic choice for United. Naturally, Feyenoord wants to sign the striker to a longer and better contract. In the process, they apparently seek to increase his release clause.

However, despite reports suggesting that Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with SL Benfica for Ramos Goncalo, the Red Devils still have to battle Bayern Munich as the race for the 21 year old Portugal international intensifies.

This summer, it appears that Goncalo Ramos will leave Benfica. A number of European powerhouses have expressed interest in the talented 21-year-old youngster from Portugal, who has scored an incredible 25 goals in 38 outings for the Eagles this season.

In the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup tonight against Inter Milan, Ramos will likely be the focal point of his team's assault. Here, we evaluate the youngster's accomplishments thus far and potential future plans.

Ramos' status was at best modest one year ago when he traveled outside of his country.

Darwin Nunez, jumped at the opportunity to join Liverpool past summer, and the academy product who had played little for Benfica's first team grasped the first team opportunities presented to him to cement himself as one of the hot prospects in Europe.

Ramos made his international debut at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last winter after scoring nine goals in his first 11 games of the Primeira Liga season for Portugal.

He was given the start in place of Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal's match against Switzerland in the round of 16, and he showed Fernando Santos' faith by scoring an exquisite hat-trick in a 6-1 victory. It wasn't just a passing fad either. Goncalo Ramos' unstoppable season has Benfica in the final eight of the Champions League and on the verge of winning the league for the first time in four years.

Ramos provides much more than simply goals, which explains why his fan base has expanded so quickly. The native of the Algarve is undoubtedly a goal scorer; he now shares the league scoring lead in his home country with 17 goals and has also scored three times in the Champions League.

Ramos usually drops deep to link up with midfielders before bursting forward into the box, playing a crucial part in his team's build-up play. His physical characteristics enable him to operate well in the air while still maintaining the breakneck speed typical of top-level marksmen in their early years.

Manchester United is said to be at the head of the line for Ramos' services because Erik ten Hag needs front-line reinforcements so badly.

The addition of Ramos would drastically lessen the burden on Marcus Rashford, who has been the Red Devils' primary goal scorer this season.

Being one of the most eager pressers out of possession in the Primeira Liga, he also looks to suit well with Ten Hag's style.

Although they are unlikely to have a clear run, reports in Spain earlier this month stated that the Dutch tactician has granted the board of United permission to make a transfer this summer.

Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, who reportedly see Ramos as a replacement for their late icon Robert Lewandowski, are also in the running.

The 34-year-old Polish ace left Bavaria for Barcelona last summer, but his former club was unable to quickly find a successor, leaving them without a No. 9 this season.

Ramos is top on the wish list of Thomas Tuchel, the newly appointed manager of the Allianz Arena, who is eager to handle the situation as soon as possible. Ramos would not make as much money in Germany, but his chances of winning a European championship would be far higher.

Ramos won't be inexpensive because of his lengthy deal, which runs through the summer of 2026. Anyone looking to steal Benfica's prized treasure will probably have to fork up north of £90 million because they are known for driving a hard bargain.

Furthermore, a strong performance tonight versus Inter could raise that estimation even higher.

Amar Dedic responds to transfer rumors

Amar Dedic, a transfer target for Manchester United, has addressed speculation that he may join a prestigious European team this summer.

The 20-year-old right-back made his Champions League debut for current club RB Salzburg in his first campaign as a regular member of the senior team.

Manchester United reportedly dispatched scouts to study the Bosnia & Herzegovina international, who has made 30 appearances and assisted on five goals so far this season, 90min reported last month.

Dedic seems to be the newest young prodigy to come out of Salzburg's development program; other players like Benjamin Sesko, Junior Adamu, and Nicolas Seiwald have all caught the attention of elite European clubs. Sesko has committed to play for RB Leipzig starting in 2019.

Amar Dedic is a potential replacement for Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, who is supposedly the player that United want to sign ahead the German outfit.

Following reports of a transfer, the player has now responded. Dedic said it was "nice" to hear he had links to elite European teams, with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing him this summer, in a recent interview (via Austrian site Laola1). But the Bosnian player went on to say that he was totally focused on helping Salzburg finish the season strongly.

"This rumour doesn't do anything to me. It's nice to read, but my focus is totally on Salzburg," he said.

"I wouldn't be good if I thought about it too much. I want to play here and win titles, that's clear."

The right-back will have a busy finish to the current season despite having a contract with the reigning Austrian Bundesliga champions through 2027.

In the league's championship round, Salzburg still has four games to play despite finishing first in the regular season standings. They now lead second-place Sturm Graz by four points, and third-place LASK also has a slim chance of winning the championship.
