Bruno Fernandes aims funny jibe at Scott McTominay on Instagram after scoring a brace for Scotland

Bruno Fernandes is the stand in captain for several matches where Harry Maguire had to start the game from bench. However, the 28 year old isn't just a leader in the dressing room but appears to be one of the best joker as well.

He has come online to make funny comments under his teammates social media posts and Scott McTominay is his latest victim.

In 2023, Scott McTominay tallied his first goals to lead Scotland to a triumph at the international level. The midfielder for Manchester United scored twice as Scotland defeated Cyprus 3-0 in their Euro 2024 qualification match.

Scott McTominay, who has been stuck in that position at Manchester United lately, was actually given the start by Scotland manager Steve Clarke on the bench.

McTominay scored two late goals to seal the win for the home team after entering the game with 23 minutes remaining and the score at 1-0.

Scott McTominay scored twice, once in extra time to satisfy the Tartan Army audience and once in the 87th minute.

Prior to this, the defender for Manchester United had only ever scored one goal for his country, which came against Israel in 2021.

Following Scotland's victory, McTominay praised qualifying's "good start" in a message on social media. Bruno Fernandes, a fellow United player, responded to him by playfully asking if he was now a striker.

McTominay has previously played as a forward for United's under-21 side, but his use in this position has not yet been necessitated by a severe lack of forwards for the first team.

During the international holiday, Marcel Sabitzer of the United team also scored twice in a victory over Azerbaijan, so he is not the only midfielder for that team to have done so.

Bruno Fernandes also performed admirably, producing eight opportunities for Portugal national team in a 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein.
