Davide Frattesi has been linked to Manchester United for some time, and they are currently putting together an offer to ultimately sign him.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport first reported that United's top priority is to employ the Sassuolo-based Italian international, who is valued at £30.7 million.
According to a report yesterday cited by Calcio Mercato Web, Man Utd is putting together a swap offer featuring Amad Diallo in an effort to entice the Frattesi.
The 23-year-old central defender is being pursued by both Roma and Juventus, according to an Italian news source.
The Serie A teams could overtake the Red Devils in the race to close the deal, though, if they offer Diallo in return.
Additionally, CMW asserts that Frattesi might be signed for a sum of about €40 million (£30.7 million).
The creative midfielder, formerly of Empoli, has so far earned four appearances for the senior national team.
The Azzurri star has scored six goals for Sassuolo this current season in 26 league appearances. He scored four goals and contributed as many assists across all categories last season.
Because McTominay and Fred have been so inconsistent over the years, the Old Trafford team must make improvements in the mid field.
Despite the fact that Eriksen and Casemiro are growing older and will turn 32 next year, Erik Ten Hag has done wonders with them in the midfield this season.
