Newcastle United's manager is reportedly a big fan of Man United's academy graduate and wants him next summer

Manchester United's midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly on Premier League outfit Newcastle United's wanted list.

Newcastle United's manager Eddie Howe is allegedly a fan of Manchester United's academy graduate, according to the Manchester Evening News. The former Bournemouth manager is reportedly eyeing the 26-year-old Scot in a bid to blister the Magpies' midfield. The Tyneside club wants a midfield anchor so as to unleash central midfielder Bruno Guimaraes's full attacking potential.

Weallfollowunited believes that the Mapgies could lure Scott McTominay away from Old Trafford to Tyneside in the upcoming summer transfer window, and there's the possibility of the Red Devils letting go of the Scotland international.

Newcastle United have the financial power play due to the recent Saudi Arabian takeover at the club, but it is reported that they are conscious of financial fair play. However, Eddie Howe's team has managed to impress this campaign. They were Carabao Cup finalists and are in the race for a top-four finish.

Despite Eddie Howe having the services of Joellinton, Sean Longstaff, and Joe Willock in his midfield, the former Bournemouth boss allegedly wants Scott McTominay due to his physicality and experience.

Scott McTominay, 26, came through the Red Devils academy setup and established himself as a regular in the senior team, but the arrival of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen under new Red Devils boss Erik Ten Hag has seen him fall down the pecking order. Injuries have also compounded his playing opportunities this season.

Scott McTominay, however, did outstage Casemiro at the earliest stage of the season, but the five-time Champions League winner didn't take long before making the midfield position his own.
