Erik Ten Hag allegedly working towards signing attacking minded right back ahead of summer transfer window

Sports Witness has claimed that Bayern are bent on securing the signing of Jeremy Frimpong from Bundesliga outfit Bayern Leverkusen ahead of the next summer transfer window.

Despite the fact that the 2023 summer transfer window is still months away, Erik Ten Hag is reportedly working towards bringing right back Jeremy Frimpong to Old Trafford in a potential €60 million deal.

The duo of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot haven't really hit the ground running at the right back position, although both have tried their best to convince Erik Ten Hag. It's clear the 53-year-old wants a more attacking-minded right back in the club's ranks.

Jeremy Frimpong rose through the ranks of Manchester City's youth set-up before moving to Scottish giants Celtic in 2019, where he scored three goals and assisted eight more in 51 appearances. He completed a move to Bayern Leverkusen in the 2021 winter transfer window and has since been an integral member of the German club.

Over the course of 80 appearances, Jeremy Frimpong has amassed 18 assists and registered nine goals for the German side, which highlights the amount of threat he would offer Erik Ten Hag's side on the right side of the Red Devils' defense.

This campaign, Jeremy Frimpong has seven goals and six assists in 24 matches for the Bundesliga outfit. While the general ratings on Whoscored (7.16/10) make him the highest second-rated player for Bayern Leverkusen this season, only Bruno Fernandes (7.34/10) has bettered him this season if he were already a Man United player.

Jeremy Frimpong, 22, will certainly offer Erik Ten Hag's side the much-needed dynamism needed on the right side; however, future decisions will be made when the summer transfer window arrives, as Erik Ten Hag will certainly revamp his side in preparation for a Premier League title challenge.

Jeremy Frimpong's talent is not doubted, as he has been labeled one of the best wingbacks in Europe by talent scout Jacek Kulig.
