Manchester United's teenager Joe Hugill scores on Professional debut with Altrincham

Manchester United's academy star Joe Hugill made history on Tuesday night during Altrincham's 2-1 win against York City during the two sides' National League clash.

Joe Hugill, 19, has been making waves with Manchester United's under-21 side this campaign, scoring nine goals in nine appearances. He was able to make his first professional appearance with his Altrincham debut as a footballer and capped it with a goal.

After Manchester United's under-21 game against Leicester City was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, the Red Devils then agreed with Altrincham to include Joe Hugill in their matchday squad due to the National League side's invocation of their option to take the teenage striker on loan.

Altrincham signed three of Man United's youngsters on loan in January, but only Maxi Oyedele has featured for the non-league side until last week, scoring twice, while Joe Hugill and Sonny Aljofree were still waiting for their call up.

On Tuesday night, Joe Hugill needed just 7 minutes to get on the scoresheet for Altrincham; although York City equalized, Altrincham scored the winner with 7 minutes of full time left.

Maxi Oyedele was also among the Altrincham starters on Tuesday night; it was his seventh appearance for Altrincham, while 19-year-old Joe Hugill made his debut.

Unitedinfocus believes Joe Hugill might have earned himself a starting berth ahead of Sunday's fixture between Altrincham and Eastleigh.

Joe Hugill's form has reportedly attracted interest from a number of clubs, with his former club Sunderland AFC vigorously monitoring the 19-year-old.
