Manchester United's youngster, Hannibal Mejbri escapes ban during Birmingham City's defeat

Manchester United's starlet Hannibal Mejbri, who is currently on loan with Championship side Birmingham City, was lucky to have escaped a two-match ban due to card accumulation.

The 20-year-old would have been hit with a two-game ban if he got into the referee's book during the Blues' 3-0 loss at the hands of Watford on Tuesday night. Although it wasn't the best night for the Tunisian midfielder, he was able to avoid getting booked by the game official while already on his ninth yellow card going into the game.

Hannibal Mejbri would be available for Birmingham City's next Championship game, but it isn't certain yet if he will be a starter as most influential Birmingham City midfielder Juninho Bacuna is reportedly back in the team's squad and would retake his place at the expense of the Manchester United loanee.

Tuesday night's 3-0 loss to Watford in the English Championship extended Birmingham City's miserable recent record at Vicarage Road.

Watford were playing their first home game under new boss Chris Wilder and recorded an easy victory thanks to goals from Imran Louza, Keinan Davis, and substitute Britt Assombalonga. The Blues have now failed to score a goal in their last five matches at Vicarage Road.

On Saturday, the Blues visit the Queens Park Rangers in an effort to get one step closer to the necessary 50 points.

Birmingham City was extremely lucky to only be down two goals at halftime after being repeatedly let in by Watford. Watford managed to score two goals, but they could have had a few more with more accurate execution.

The advantage that the Blues handed Watford in the first 20 minutes was not really necessary. The changes made at halftime had a positive effect, but the Blues' dreams of a comeback were dashed when Scott Hogan and Auston Trusty missed crucial opportunities right away after the break.

Hannibal Mejbri has featured 31 times for Birmingham in the Championship this season and has recorded a goal and five assists in the process.
