Mason Mount, a midfielder for Chelsea, could depart the club this summer.
The England international's Chelsea contract could expire at the conclusion of the upcoming campaign, and the uncertainty surrounding his future could result in a sale of him in the near future.
If there is no indication of progress in contract talks, Chelsea may be forced to sell Mount because they won't want to lose him on a free transfer.
The Guardian claims that Liverpool are the favorites to sign Mount, but Manchester United is also keeping a careful eye on his situation. According to the report, Mount is open to working with Thomas Tuchel, his previous coach who was recently named manager of Bayern Munich.
After spending more than £500 million on acquisitions since being acquired by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital last year, Chelsea should start considering raising money.
Regarding Manchester United's acquisition of the Chelsea academy graduate, a worried supporter said: "I don't believe a player like Mount is necessary, so unless United believes a deal offers excellent value for the money, I believe we should place more of an emphasis on other transfer priorities."
"I'm not at all excited about Mount."
