Man United could have scored more and other observations from the 4-1 win against Real Betis in the Europa League

🧐Manchester United could have scored more.

The Red Devils' first chance to take the lead in the game was ruled out for offside. Wout Weghorst was in position to chest Fred's cross with his chest beyond Bravo as the Red Devils lit up the first half of the game, but he had to wait until later in the second half to score his first goal at Old Trafford.

He had another chance after Antony Santos's cross picked him up amongst a crowd of Real Betis' defenders, but Wout Weghorst failed to connect properly with the ball, blasting it above the roof of the net.

There were also several other chances that the Red Devils squandered, and Antony was also guilty of wasting one of the best chances to score after he was played through by Bruno Fernandes into a one-on-one situation with Real Betis's Bravo. He had the option of laying the ball down for a well-positioned Wout Weghorst to tap into an empty net, but the Brazilian opted to chip the ball beyond Bravo's reach, and it ended up flying over the roof of the net.

✊Strong reaction from the players

Fans went berserk after they witnessed their team's humiliation at Anfield on Sunday evening, and the players felt the fans' anger after the 7-0 loss.

The pundits were also critical of the team's general performance and singled out several players to blame.

The Europa League tie against Real Betis was a good start to redemption, although they could have done better in the second half. They were caught slacking after Marcus Rashford's opener, and we're pegged back by Ayoze Pérez's stunner as the game ended in stalemate after the first half.

They resumed the second half strongly and dominated the game, scoring three times in the process. Erik Ten Hag as well got his changes right with an important Premier League game awaiting on Sunday against Southampton.

🥺David De Gea's carelessness passes

David De Gea is everything an aspiring goalkeeper would want to be, but the modern game has exposed the 32-year-old's poor ball distribution and inaccurate passing.

One of those careless passes almost put Real Betis in the lead moments after they equalized, but thanks to the woodwork at Old Trafford, they were denied. Erik Ten Hag could likely want a goalkeeper who is good with his foot at Manchester United next season.

💪Old Trafford is now a fortress.

Just two losses at home this season in all competitions for Manchester United. They currently have a 90% win rate at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have registered just two draws in their last 21 home games at Old Trafford. and are yet to lose at home in the Premier League since the shocking 2-1 loss to Brighton Albion on opening day.

👉Facundo Pellistri sends a message to Erik Ten Hag.

The 21-year-old was thrown into the fray later in the second half and immediately was involved in the buildup to Manchester United's fourth goal, which was eventually scored by Wout Weghorst.

Bruno Fernandes' corner kick picked up the young Uruguayan at the edge of the box. The winger drove the ball with pace towards the corner side, dragging three Real Betis defenders along with him. He then aggressively swerved back into the box. The ball fell kindly for Wout Weghorst, who wasted no time in scoring his first Old Trafford goal.

👉The Magnifico answers critics

The stand-in captain proved why he is the right leader for the Red Devils with his performances on the pitch on Thursday night.

He was everywhere on the pitch and was at the heart of every attacking play made. He got an assist and later a goal to cap his terrific night out with the team.
