Erik Ten Hag singles out Bruno Fernandes, three others including youngster for individual ethics in Real Betis win

Manchester United's manager has singled out a number of players for their impact during the 4-1 win at Old Trafford in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Red Devils gave a strong reaction against Real Betis in their Europa League round of 16 tie at Old Trafford on Thursday night. It was a better performance after a forgetful trip to Anfield on Sunday, where they lost 7-0 to Jurgen Klopp's men.

Manchester United's players responded rightly with a 4-1 video victory against Manuel Pellegrini's side. Marcus Rashford fired the Red Devils ahead six minutes into the first half. Real Betis equalized through a controversial build-up after Runamin appeared to have touched the ball with his hand before flicking it to Ayoze Pérez, who chested the ball down before unleashing a thunderous shot to the bottom end of the net. The first half ended in a stalemate after some wasted chances from both sides.

Manchester United resumed the second half strongly, going ahead again after Bruno Fernandes picked out Antony Santos on the right flank. The Brazilian showed quick feet before curling the ball to the far top corner of Bravo's net.

Manchester United kept the pressure on, as they made it 3-1 after a Bruno Fernandes header; he walked into the opponent's box undetected and connected well with Luke Shaw's brilliant corner kick.

Erik Ten Hag made some changes as he brought fresh legs on to the pitch. Facundo Pellistri, who was given his European debut, was quick to make an impact as he almost connected well with Scot McTominay. However, Bravo kept the ball out, but Wout Weghorst was in position to rebound the ball into an empty net.

Erik Ten Hag expressed his happiness and delight with the players; he hailed their performance, especially in the second half when they dominated the visitors. He also singled out a number of individuals for their efforts.

"It was a good attitude, from the start. "Front foot, we were good on the ball, finding spare men in the midfield," he told MUTV at fulltime.

"We made good switches, we made good runs in behind, and we created a lot of chances, so yes, we are happy today."

He singled out the duo of Wout Weghorst and stand-in captain Bruno Fernandes for their work rate and claimed Bruno Fernandes deserved the goal and assist.

"He [Weghorst] was so close many times already, and he has created so many chances and goals for others by making space," he said.

"Now he has his goal [at Old Trafford], and he deserved it." For Bruno, I think he was brilliant today. He led the team by example from the first minute. "In possession, he made the rhythm of the game, and he scored a goal, so I am happy."

"I think also the subs made a good impact." Aaron, Jadon, and Ty, and you see when we bring the last two subs on [Scott McTominay and Facundo Pellistri], they made it 4-1 straight away.

"Great action from Pellistri, a finish by Scott, and then the rebound is for Wout," he explained.
