Chelsea slaps Mason Mount with £50 million price tag amid Man United and Liverpool's link

Chelsea's Mason Mount has reportedly been tagged for £50 million by the London-based club amid interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Chelsea academy graduate has hit rock bottom with the club as they were able to reach a decision over a new contract. His current contract expires in less than 12 months, and since breaking into the first team, the England international has made 192 appearances for the Blues, scoring 33 goals and registering 37 assists.

The 24-year-old is looking to get an improved deal at Stamford Bridge; he is requesting a £240,000 per week wage but will not accept a contract that would last for seven or eight years. This is the new trend since Todd Boehly took over as the new Chelsea owner.

Due to the Blues' inability to reach a final decision with the 24-year-old's representative, Chelsea has put contract negotiations on hold until the end of the season. This development has alerted rival clubs, who are monitoring the player's situation and showing considerable interest.

The Blues' Premier League rivals, Liverpool and Manchester United, are reportedly interested in snapping up the England international, and Sport Mole believes they have been swayed by Chelsea's £50 million price tag.

The Mirror believes the £50 million price tag will be Chelsea's asking price if they decide to sanction the midfielder next summer.

Sports Mole as well claimed that Manchester City, Juventus, and Newcastle United are interested in Chelsea's academy graduate, and the Mapgies are reportedly already in the race for the England international's signature.

Mason Mount has scored three times and assisted six more in 32 games across all competitions for Chelsea; however, he has featured just once in the last four games for the blues.
