"I would have taken it alot harder"- Christian Eriksen opens up about injury setback

Christian Eriksen, a midfielder for Manchester United, gave a report on his ankle injury recovery.

Eriksen left Brentford after his contract expired and signed with the Red Devils on a free move the previous summer. Eriksen has made 31 appearances across all categories since joining the team, recording two goals and nine assists.

The international player from Denmark hasn't played since suffering a foot injury against Reading in the FA Cup in January, though.

In a recent sequence of Instagram posts, Christian Eriksen demonstrated how he transitioned from wearing a protective boot to trainers and then to football boots.

In a recent episode of the UTD Podcast series, which will be available next month, the former Tottenham Hotspur player was questioned about the Instagram image and his recovery.

"Yeah, it is going well," Christian Eriksen said. "I have just started being outside as you saw [on Instagram] with football boots on."

"And then we take it from there, that is the next step. I have been in the gym for some weeks now and now it is time to do the next rehab session outside."

Christian Eriksen expressed optimism that he can still contribute to Man United this year and said that his background has helped him deal effectively with his medical setback.

"I think earlier in my career I would have taken it a lot harder than I do now," the 31-year-old added. "You learn later on that it's just part of your career. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not."

"With this one particularly, when I can't do anything myself, when somebody came on to me, the mindset is just getting back as soon as possible in a healthy, strong way and not to get any setbacks."

The Red Devils, who recently won the EFL Trophy, are still competing in the FA Cup and Europa League, and they will be eager to add to their collection of trophies during Erik ten Hag's debut season as manager.

Man United, who is also trying to get into the Champions League, was in third place going into the interval, three points ahead of Newcastle United, who was in fifth.
