EXCLUSIVE: Marcus Rashford rejects Paris Saint Germain's £440k per week contract offer

Manchester United superstar Marcus Rashford has reportedly turned down a £400,000-a-week deal from Paris Saint-Germain. The 25 year old was heavily involved in his move to the French giants. However, under the guidance of Eric Ten Hag, Rashford was one of the best forwards in the world that year.

After a season where he scored just 5 goals and 2 assists, he has already scored his 27 goals and this season he has scored 9 goals in just 44 appearances. However, he may have created these figures in the French capital.

Athletic say PSG were prepared to raise £400,000 a week to keep Rashford away from Old Trafford. However, the move did not go ahead as Rashford decided to stay at the club he had attended since childhood.

PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has also confirmed interest, and he even said he spoke with representatives from Rashford this summer. He even hinted that they could make another smack for Marcus Rashford when his contract expires in the summer of 2024.

"He’s another player who’s amazing and for free? To have Rashford for free, every club will run after him,” Al-Khelaifi said before the World Cup. "Definitely, we spoke before and interest, but the moment was not a good moment for both sides."

"Maybe summer, why not? If he is a free agent, we can talk to him directly. But we are not going to talk to him now and let him focus on the World Cup."

"In January, hopefully, we would be interested in talking to him." United are trying to get Rashford tied down to a new contract and are hoping to trigger a 12-month contract extension to his current £200,000-a-week contract."

Manchester United are reportedly keen to introduce a salary cap that would limit wages to between £200,000 and £300,000 a week, with talks believed to be deadlocked.
