Celtic set to earn huge if Man United completes Jeremy Frimpong's signing from Bayern Leverkusen

If Jeremie Frimpong decides to join with Manchester United of the English Premier League, Celtic may be in for yet another huge windfall.

Since leaving Glasgow's east end for Bayer Leverkusen in January 2021 for a reported price of £11.5 million, the defender has been a revelation. Jeremy Frimpong joined Celtic in September 2019 as part of a £350,000 deal after rising through Manchester City's youth levels.

If the Dutchman's proposed transfer to the Red Devils materializes, the Hoops are now prepared to make another profit on the full-back. With the Scottish Premiership champions reportedly having negotiated a massive 30% clause on any transfer profit for Frimpong, Celtic's coffers could see a substantial increase.

The 22-year-old is reportedly a big admirer of Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, who is under no obligation to sell his prized possession. However, if Erik ten Hag of Manchester United wishes to entice his fellow countryman to Old Trafford, a sum of £50 million and higher may well entice the Germans to consider doing business.

According to the Japanese media source Nikkan Sports, Ange Postecoglou's team appears to be traveling to Japan for a preseason friendly in the summer.

Following Celtic's November tour of Australia, the 57-year-old is returning for a second tearful reunion. The Australian player and his team will travel to the Far East for a high-profile match against his former team, Yokohama F Marinos, who will also face Manchester City.

There hasn't been any word yet about the Hoops playing Pep Guardiola's team or whether the matches will take the shape of a preseason competition. The games, though, might still take place in late July.

The Spanish coach brought his team to Yokohama F Marinos in 2019; both teams are in the same City Football Group. Since Postecoglou assumed leadership, Celtic has scouted the Japanese division and market for a number of players.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Yuki Kobayashi, and Tomoki Iwata are just a few of the players the Australian raped from the J1 League. Yosuke Ideguchi is presently back on loan at Avispa Fukuoka in his native country.
