"Thankfully...he is not playing"- Brendan Rodgers praises Casemiro's impact, why Leicester City will not win at Old Trafford

Leicester City's manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted he is glad his side will not have to deal with Manchester United's midfielder when the two sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers' absence from Sunday's Premier League clash between the Foxes and the Red Devils is a relief to him.

Casemiro is set to serve the last of his Premier League three-match ban after he was sent off for violent conduct two weeks ago against Crystal Palace. The Red Devils have always struggled on the pitch each time the tenacious Brazilian is absent.

Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City will travel with their back in form squad, which has recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season. They are also out of the relegation battle as they sit 13th on the Premier League table, and they have found themselves in the back of the net eight times in their last two games.

Casemiro has been a great addition to Erik Ten Hag's squad following his £60 million transfer from Spain's capital-based club Real Madrid last summer. Leicester City's coach is glad the influential midfielder will be absent at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The former Liverpool manager, during his press conference ahead of his side's trip to Manchester, stated that the Red Devils' summer transfer activities have paid off positively for Erik Ten Hag's side and given them much-needed results. He named Casemiro amongst the major set of players who have ensured Manchester United are having a fantastic season.

“I look at Manchester United and see the introduction of new players, if you think of (Christian) Eriksen and (Lisandro) Martinez, really outstanding players," Brendan Rodgers said via Leicestershire Live.

“In Casemiro, they have a real world-class player." He’s that comforting player for them. He’s got the experience, he’s got the quality, he’s got everything; he’s always calm, and the way he plays is at a high level. Thankfully for us, he’s not playing; he’s suspended. He’s given them a real stabilizing effect.

"Erik (ten Hag) and his coaching team have given them good organization. Then they have a collective group of outstanding players. They have done very well and are up there competing; they played a good game last night. "I think their record at home shows they’re a difficult team to play against.”

Erik Ten Hag's side are unbeaten in their last 16 games at Old Trafford; the last time they lost at home was against Real Sociedad in their first Europa League game of the season.
