Man United kick-starts their busy summer transfer window with two exits and other stories

Manchester United are surely going to have a busy summer transfer window schedule as team manager Erik Ten Hag is set to continue with his task of rebuilding the squad.

He has already hinted during an interview with times, while also repeating the statements during the club's Gala Night Awards; that the 20 times Premier League Champions will be need to spend in order to challenge for titles and achieve other targets.

"Other clubs invested to be in the top four in January; we didn’t invest. You can’t ignore that," he said

"If you want to be competitive in this league, you have to invest. I need signings, yes", he told The Times.

An anticipated clearout and team overhaul appears to have begun, with the announcement of Diogo Dalot's new contract extension on Wednesday evening. The Portuguese international committed his future to the club until 2028.

While no new additions has occurred to the squad, SportsMole has claimed that Phil Jones and Ethan Galbraith have both exited the club after their contracts expiration. Although, it's not a surprise as both had already hinted about leaving the Red Devils few weeks ago, Phil Jones'exit was particularly announced and fans were made aware. More exits are bound to follow with the futures of several players vividly away from Old Trafford.

The likes of Alex Telles, Eric Baily, Scott McTominay, team captain Harry Maguire to mention a few are all expected to leave for new clubs during the summer transfer window.

The duo of Alex Telles and Eric Baily went on loan stints at Sevilla and Olympique Marseille respectively and are clearly not in Erik Ten Hag's plan. Scott McTominay is been tipped to leave the 20 times Premier League Champions and he is seriously wanted by Newcastle United.

Team Captain Harry Maguire who has fallen down the pecking order under Erik Ten Hag is expected to find a new club and reports suggests West Ham are one of the clubs who are considering the £80 million signing from Leicester City.

There are still speculations regarding the futures of Fred, Anthony Elanga and Anthony Martial whom are amongst the club's summer sale list.

Meanwhile, Manchester United might have made a major move regarding their summer schedule as reports emerging on Thursday claimed they have reached agreement with Chelsea's academy graduate Mason Mount.

The Telegraph suggested that the 24 year old has reached an agreement with Erik Ten Hag's side regarding personal terms and the deal is expected to go on pending an actual agreement between Chelsea and Manchester United.

But the open secret at Old Trafford remains that a striker's signing is the major priority in the summer transfer window with Erik Ten Hag's side linked with a host of stars across Europe top Leagues
