Victor Osimhen's pursuit by Manchester United has received a major boost as a result of Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, decreasing the asking price.
The 2022–23 season for the Naples team was wonderful for the Nigerian international. In just 39 games, he made 31 goals and contributed five assists.
He was essential in helping the team end its three-decade Scudetto drought, but the Red Devils' interest this summer could lead to his departure.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport and Osimhen, De Laurentiis won't accept less than €120 million for a sale. Osimhen has refused to rule out a summer exit. It mentions Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AS Monaco, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain are all showing interest in the Nigerian sensation.
Harry Kane is United manager Erik ten Hag's top target for a striker, although it seems doubtful that he will sign with the team in the near future.
There are no intentions to negotiate his sale to a direct Premier League competitor at Tottenham Hotspur. Kane could choose to leave his contract early or switch to Madrid.
The Red Devils could therefore need to consider a different choice. Osimhen was originally thought to be pricey, but the most recent information may change United's mind.
The Nigerian star's price has been reduced by De Laurentiis by €30 million, bringing it to slightly over £100 million. The Red Devils ought to be inspired by this to submit an official bid.
But others will join them in the hunt. Bayern, Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are all able to cover the amount, thus United needs to act quickly to complete the transaction.
Anthony Elanga hold talks with Bundesliga outfit
Anthony Elanga will reportedly be made available for sale this summer by Manchester United for between €15 and €20 million.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, although nothing has progressed, there have already been some negotiations for RB Leipzig to sign the Manchester United winger.
"News #Elanga: The 21 y/o can leave #MUFC in summer!
➡️ Talks with RB Leipzig took place but it’s not advanced
➡️ Many other clubs have inquired about him. He’s in the market.
Price expectation ManUtd: €15-20m.
@SkySportDE 🇸🇪," Florian Plettenberg tweeted.
It may make sense that the Red Devils have now opted to let Elanga depart for the correct price because he has shown some promise in the first squad, but maybe not quite enough to merit a permanent starting position.
Leipzig would be a wonderful place for Elanga to go because it would provide the 21-year-old international from Sweden the chance to play more frequently.
The Bundesliga team also has a stellar track record of fostering young talent, so Elanga may find that he makes significant progress there and eventually gets a second shot at a more prestigious club.
