Man United set to offer duo in exchange for Declan Rice as Ferdinand names four players set for exit

According to reports, Manchester United is open to trading for two players in order to acquire Declan Rice from West Ham to Old Trafford.

Rice is attracting a lot of interest because the Europa League Conference Final against Fiorentina next week is likely to be his final match for the Hammers before a summer transfer.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, is a major fan, and the Bundesliga club is reportedly considering a £95 million bid for the 24-year-old.

Although Rice reportedly favors a switch to the Gunners because he wants to stay in the Premier League and, if feasible, London, Mikel Arteta has made the England international his top transfer target at Arsenal.

Arsenal now has the upper hand over Manchester United, who are also highly interested in the £100 million midfielder.

Arsenal is rumored to be preparing a £90 million starting bid, which they will present following Rice's final game.

According to the Daily Mail, United is now operating with a constrained transfer budget and is looking to offer players in return for Rice in order to lower the cash outlay while potential new owners wait for the Glazers to announce a preferred bidder while the process drags on.

Scott McTominay is reportedly a big fan of West Ham manager David Moyes, and United would be willing to move both him and club captain Harry Maguire.

According to reports, if the center defender leaves Old Trafford this summer, Manchester United will pay him a hefty £10 million payoff. With the FA Cup final this weekend "likely" to be Maguire's final match as a United player.

Rio Ferdinand, a former United player, listed Maguire and McTominay as two of the four players he thinks ought to depart the team this summer.

“McTominay hasn’t played much football, not as much as he would like,” Ferdinand told the Vibe with Five podcast earlier this week.

“If I was him as a young player I would probably start assessing that situation and start having real hard conversations with the club [asking] ‘do you see me as part of it or not?’.

“If I’m that far down the pecking order I would start looking and I don’t think he will have a problem finding a club, he is a very good footballer and he can add a lot of value. Maguire has to look at a new option for himself. Unless he says he’s happy to be the third or fourth choice."

“Elanga maybe [is another], he is not getting a chance. Martial has proved that he can’t stay fit. I think if you got rid of those four, there is £100million sitting there."

“Elanga isn’t getting the football he deserves. He did well when he came in and still isn’t getting a chance. Big players in front of him but he wants to be playing first team football.”
